Symphony is the highest profound form of instrumental music,which can give full play to the rich expressive force of various instruments in the orchestra,so as to create a full musical image and profound spiritual connotation.High school students should enter the life stage of "philosophical" thinking in terms of intelligence and emotion,so listening to the symphony should be an important part of learning in the growth stage of high school.However,the vague definition of "symphony music" is often confused with phrases such as "orchestral music" and "symphonic music",which makes the majority of teachers vague about the definition of "symphony music",which affects students’ attention to learning the symphony music genre,leading to the generally low ability of high school students to appreciate symphonies.This paper takes the cultivation strategy of high school students as the research content.The author reviews the Chinese and Western music dictionaries and related literature,and first defines the phrases of "symphony","appreciation" ability "and" ability",and then expounds the" appreciation ability of symphonic music ".Then,the practice survey carried out on students and teachers analyzes the internal and external factors affecting the appreciation ability of high school students,takes the internal and external factors as the research content,carries out the teaching practice investigation of students and teachers,and understands the problems and causes of the appreciation of the symphony through multiple channels.According to the problems found in the investigation,the author puts forward concrete feasible practical exploration from the three aspects of external curriculum standards,teaching materials,schools,teacher education and teaching,and internal factors(i.e.,the students themselves),in order to provide some reference for the improvement of high school students’ symphony appreciation ability.
