Altruism is a kind of selfless behavior that gives help to others without return,and it is an important manifestation of pro-social behavior.Altruistic behavior is not only beneficial to social development,but also to improve the level of individual mental health.Studies have shown that individual altruistic behavior is affected by parental rearing style,and individuals are more likely to have altruistic behavior if parents adopt positive rearing style.This study explored the relationships and underlying mechanisms among parental rearing patterns,emotional intelligence,moral self-concept,and altruistic behavior.The studies are divided into two parts.In the first study,718 college students were surveyed by the Parenting Style Scale,Emotional Intelligence Scale,Moral Self-concept Scale and Self-rated Altruistic Behavior Scale,to understand the present situation of junior middle school students’ parental rearing style,emotional intelligence,moral self-concept and altruistic behavior,and to analyze the differences of demographic variables among them.In the second study,the pre-and post-test design was used to carry out group counseling intervention on junior high school students with low altruistic behavior level,and the emotional intelligence group counseling program was designed to verify whether the intervention of emotional intelligence group counseling has an impact on the improvement of altruistic behavior level.The results are as follows:(1)Parental rearing patterns of junior middle school students are significantly different in different genders;There was a significant difference in whether they were only children.There was no significant difference in different grades.(2)There is no significant difference in emotional intelligence of junior middle school students in different genders and grades.There was a significant difference in whether they were only children.(3)There is no significant difference in moral self-concept among junior middle school students in different genders and grades.There is a significant difference in whether they are only children.(4)There is no significant difference in junior middle school students’ altruistic behavior in gender and whether they are only children,but there are significant differences in different grades.(5)There is a significant correlation between parental rearing patterns,emotional intelligence,moral self-concept and altruistic behavior.(6)The parenting style of junior middle school students can positively predict emotional intelligence and altruistic behavior;Emotional intelligence can predict altruistic behavior.(7)Emotional intelligence plays a partial mediating role between parental rearing patterns and altruistic behaviors.(8)Moral self-concept plays a moderating role in the influence path of emotional intelligence on altruistic behavior.(9)Emotional intelligence group counseling intervention has an effect on improving junior high school students’ emotional intelligence and altruistic behavior.Conclusions:(1)There is a significant correlation between parental rearing patterns,emotional intelligence,moral self-concept and altruistic behavior of junior middle school students.(2)Emotional intelligence partially mediates the relationship between parental rearing patterns and altruistic behaviors;The moderating effect of moral self-concept on the influence path of emotional intelligence on altruistic behavior;(3)Emotional intelligence group counseling intervention has an effect on improving junior high school students’ emotional intelligence and altruistic behavior.
