Correlation Between Parental Rearing Patterns And Emotional Intelligence Of Middle School Students

Previous studies indcated that high levels of positive effect and low level of parental monitoring were related to children’s emotional regulation and the use of emotion expression rules.Emotional intelligence may be influenced by family environmental factors.However,as one of the key factors in the family environment,the relationship between parental rearing pattern and emotional intelligence is seldom studied.In order to explore the relationship between parental rearing patterns and emotional intelligence of middle school students,this study investigated 450 middle school students from middle school in Jinzhou.The survey tool was Yue Dongmei’s parenting style Rating Scale(EMBU)and Wang Caikang’s Emotional Intelligence Scale(EIS).The main results of this survey are as follows:1.There were no significant differences in gender,grade differences,and single parenting factors between the six dimensions of parenting style.There were significant differences in some dimensions of urban and rural factors,family structure,education,whether or not single parent factors.2.There were no significant differences between the five dimensions of parenting style.There were significant differences in gender,grade differences,urban and rural factors,education and family structure.3.There were no significant differences in the dimensions of gender,grade,single parent and family structure in the 3 dimensions of emotional intelligence.There were significant differences in some dimensions of factors such as the regulation of urban and rural,there were significant differences in the dimension of emotional self perception,emotion,and city students in emotion and emotional self regulation and emotional intelligence which is much higher than that of rural areas.4.The total score of emotional intelligence,emotional awareness dimension,and understanding of their emotional dimensions and parental rearing style of emotional warmth was significantly positive correlation.There was a significant negative correlation between emotional intelligence and father’s severe punishment,denial of denial and mother’s preference.5.Generally speaking,emotional intelligence and parental rearing patterns showed significant correlation.There was a significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence and emotional warmth in parental rearing styles,and negatively correlated with parental rearing styles.
