Research On Career Selection And Its Influencing Factors Of Graduated Master’s Degree Students In Social Work

Social work plays a unique role in solving social problems,maintaining harmonious social development,and building a civilized society,and is increasingly receiving attention from all aspects of society.In recent years,social work has developed relatively rapidly in China,but at the same time,there are still shortcomings such as a relatively weak foundation,a small contingent of professional talents,inadequate institutional mechanisms,and unclear policies.Many universities that carry out master’s education in social work have cultivated a large number of professional talents with deep theoretical foundation and specific practical abilities,and social work also plays a role that cannot be underestimated in many aspects,However,there are still problems with the overall development of social work in China,such as the low matching rate of career choices for social work professionals.Based on this,this study conducted a questionnaire survey on career choices and their influencing factors among graduates of master’s degree in social work in H region.SPSS 22.0 software was used for analysis,and the interviewees were selected for semi-structured interviews.The survey shows that the professional matching rate of master’s students majoring in social work is relatively low.Research shows that their career choices are influenced by factors such as social status,salary and benefits,regional development aspirations,work environment,family wishes,professional identity,personal interests,etc.A large proportion of graduates are more inclined to seek employment in other fields and positions.Based on the above research findings,this article proposes to improve the social work industry incentive system and enhance the various benefits of industry workers;The government strengthens publicity and education to enhance social recognition of social work;Improve the social work professional education system and enhance students’ professional identity;Colleges and universities should attach importance to students’ career choices,strengthen education of students’ professional abilities,and other countermeasures and suggestions to improve the selection of corresponding professions for master’s students majoring in social work,and expand the talent team of social work professionals.
