Since China entered the aging society,the degree of aging has been deepening,which has become a major social problem restricting China’s development.The old age is at the end of the life process.The social role of the old people has changed,and their physical functions have been declining,which makes them face many problems in physical,psychological and social adaptation.Life Education for the aged is a kind of education aimed at improving the quality of life of the aged,which can deepen their understanding of their own life.Active development of life education for the elderly can alleviate many of the problems faced by the elderly.The theory of active ageing,as a new view of ageing in line with population ageing trends,transforms the negative view of the elderly as a burden on society into a positive view of a force for social development.From the perspective of active ageing,older persons are the most experienced group in society and possess high professional skills that promote the betterment of their lives on the basis of guaranteeing their needs and rights,it also helps to promote social development.As the main undertaking institution of formal education for the elderly,the university for the elderly is responsible for promoting the physical and mental development of the elderly,helping the elderly to participate in society and promoting social development.By actively carrying out life education for the elderly,universities for the elderly can improve their understanding of life,improve their quality of life,and help them better realize their life meaning.At the same time,through the process of elderly students’ participation in the society,the advantages of human capital of elderly students are brought into play to promote social development.This study takes active aging as the research perspective,takes the University for the Elderly in Kunming as the research object,and surveys the current situation of life education in Kunming University for the Elderly by means of questionnaires and interviews.The current situation of life education is analyzed from the perspectives of students,teachers,teaching,curriculum,hardware facilities,financial allocation,and relevant policies of Kunming University for the Elderly.Taking the internal and external aspects of the university for the aged as the dimension of problem analysis,it is found that there are some problems in the university for the aged,such as the backward concept of life education,the single method of life education,and the one-sided construction of life education curriculum;There are some problems outside the university for the aged,such as insufficient funding,imperfect policies and disordered management system.From the perspective of the concept of active aging,this paper analyzes the causes of the problems of life education in Kunming University for the Elderly,and believes that there is a one-sided understanding of life education from the perspective of health,a negative view of the participation of elderly students from the perspective of participation,and a failure to meet the needs of life education for the elderly from the perspective of security.Put forward development countermeasures for life education in universities for the aged from the four levels of the aged students,universities for the aged,society and government,that is,at the level of the aged students,enrich the understanding of life education,establish the concept of lifelong learning,actively participate in universities for the aged and participate in the society;At the level of universities for the elderly,we should improve the level of teaching staff,improve the teaching methods of life education and improve the construction of life education curriculum;At the social level,change negative perceptions,provide social channels for participation and strengthen social resource input;At the government level,we should improve the elderly education legislation,clarify the management system and provide adequate financial support.
