Social Work Institutions Participate In Research On The Effectiveness Of Community Epidemic Prevention And Control

As a major global public health emergency,the novel coronavirus pneumonia(COVID-19)epidemic has brought great impact on China’s economic and social life.Adhering to the core value of helping others and helping themselves,social work has a special advantage in responding to public health emergencies such as the novel coronavirus(COVID-19)outbreak and is playing a role that cannot be underestimated.Community,as the basic unit of grass-roots governance,has drawn much attention in epidemic prevention and control.Besides autonomous community organizations,there are more social organizations involved.As the carrier of social workers’ service activities,the effect of social work organizations’ service activities is directly related to the professional value of social work and the effectiveness of their participation in community governance.Based on field investigation,this paper takes A social work agency working in Community H in L City during the epidemic period as the research object,adopts qualitative research methods,describes the practice process of social work agencies participating in the prevention and control of the epidemic in community H,explores the effectiveness of social work agencies participating in the prevention and control of the epidemic in community,and explains the possibility of social work agencies participating in community governance.This paper takes A social work agency as the research object.First,it describes the overall practice process of A social work agency’s participation in H community epidemic prevention and control from four aspects: service strategy formulation,service goal establishment,service program design and service practice process.Secondly,questionnaire,interview and participatory observation were used to analyze the effectiveness of social work agency A’s participation in the practice process of epidemic prevention and control in community H.The research concluded that social work agency A’s participation in the process of epidemic prevention and control in community H had outstanding performance in terms of service goal achievement,service function play,social work service satisfaction evaluation and social effect of social work service.The service effect is remarkable.However,there are still many deficiencies in the service process,which are mainly manifested as the lack of rigorous service plan design,the dilution of the professionalism of the service content,the need to further improve the service skills and the shortage of professional service talents of social workers.Based on this,this paper made an in-depth analysis of the reasons from the perspective of social ecosystem theory,and found that social worker agency A faced difficulties in the process of participating in the prevention and control of the epidemic in community H,such as insufficient linkage with the government,differences in action logic with community workers,and further improvement in the professionalism of social work services.The author puts forward the following suggestions: first,improve the system construction of social work institutions participating in community services;Secondly,social work agencies and community organizations should realize "two-way embedding" in grassroots community governance.Third,enhance the professional service capacity of social workers.
