The novel coronavirus outbreak broke out in late 2019 and spread rapidly around the world.Wuhan,the epicenter of the outbreak,is one of the worst-hit places in China.In China’s epidemic prevention and control work,communities are the main focus,and community social workers have played a key role in community epidemic prevention work,and their professionalism has been recognized by the society.However,compared with the normal working situation,the epidemic has also brought great work pressure and challenges.The workload and difficulty of community social workers have multiplied,affecting their work pattern and professional identity.The professional identity level of community social workers is related to the construction of Chinese social work team.Therefore,based on the theory of social identity and social constructionism,this paper adopts the method of participant observation and interview to explore the impact of the novel coronavirus epidemic on the professional identity of community social workers.Based on understanding the work changes of community social workers in Wuhan during the epidemic prevention and control period and the changes in their relationships with various subjects,this paper identifies the changes in the external working environment brought by the epidemic.How was the identity of social workers affected? To understand the changing rules of cognitive,emotional and behavioral factors behind it,so as to put forward effective suggestions to improve the professional identity of community social workers.The study found that during the epidemic prevention and control period,the service practice of community social workers and their interaction with various subjects had changed.Social worker service practice is more oriented to epidemic prevention work,and the relationship with various subjects has been improved.Among them,the interaction with residents is daily,the relationship is more familiar,and a good trust relationship has been established.And community action coordination and resource sharing,established a good cooperative relationship;Institutions provide diverse support to social workers,and the relationship is closer.In the face of these positive changes in the practice environment,the level of professional identity of community social workers has been improved.The professional cognition of community social workers is clearer,the professional role is clearer,The value of social work is increasingly recognized and professional competence is growing.Professional feelings are deeper,and the strong professional identity and sense of belonging are obtained.More positive professional behavior,work enthusiasm,self-reflection and learning behavior increased.Based on mechanisms affecting the professional identity of social workers,the author puts forward relevant suggestions to improve the professional identity of community social workers from the following aspects: First,encourage social workers to participate in key events in the community to build a "community of shared future";Second,strengthen the professional construction of social workers.Individual social workers should strengthen learning and reflection,and social workers organizations should achieve accurate training.Third,strengthen the publicity of social work,improve the awareness and recognition of community social workers.
