A Study On The Measurement Of Direct Employment Tourism Industry And Analysis Of Spatio-Temporal Differences In China

rom the perspective of population and labor statistics,China’employment situation is very serious nowadays.It is very important to solve the employment problem.The tourism industry has a significant effect in alleviating employment pressure due to its wide coverage,multiple industries,and large employment capacity.In other words,tourism has a large direct employment effect.So it is of great significance to scientifically measure the scale of direct tourism employment,analyze the regional differences and evaluate its contribution to China’employment.At the same time,it can also provide an important basis for the government to rationally develop the tourism industry and formulate regulatory policies better in the future.On the basis of combing the existing research results and conclusions,this paper redefines tourism direct employment and related concepts,analyzes the internal mechanism of tourism employment,and constructs a tourism direct employment calculation model.The input-output method and the tourism stripping coefficient are used to measure the number of direct tourism employment based on spatial panel data.The relative development rate,weighted coefficient of variation and Theil index are introduced to measure the regional differences of China’s tourism direct employment.The regional differences in China’s direct tourism employment are mainly developed from three perspectives: the national,regional and provincial levels.Through the calculation of direct tourism employment and regional differences in China’s 31 provinces from 2000 to 2018,the results show that:(1)The expansion of the tourism industry and the long-term stable growth of the tourism economy can effectively stimulate direct tourism employment,improve tourism employment efficiency,and make a huge contribution to solving people’s livelihood problems.(2)rom the perspective of the internal structure of tourism direct employment,the employment growth of tourism and shopping sector is the fastest,which contributes greatly to the direct employment of tourism,the proportion of tourism,transportation,post and telecommunications is not high,so the direct employment effect has not been brought into full play.In 2018,the proportion of direct tourism employment by sector is ranked as follows:tourism shopping > tourism accommodation > tourism catering > tourism traffic post and telecommunications > other tourism services > tourism entertainment.On the whole,tourism has a great attraction to the employment of relevant departments.(3)Through the measurement and analysis of regional differences,it is found that the difference of direct employment level of tourism in China fluctuates obviously and the overall difference shows a non-linear downward trend,and the expansion and contraction appear alternately.During the research period,the overall difference showed a "three-stage" evolution trend of "steady expansion-rapid reduction-steady reduction".inally,based on the above conclusions,suggestions are put forward from the perspectives of government policy formulation,tourism destination development,tourism enterprise development and tourism talent training,in order to better play the important role of tourism development in alleviating employment problems.
