Case Intervention Study On Social Support For Family Caregivers Of Urban Poor People With Disabilitie

At present,various welfare services for disabled in China are gradually improving,but the family caregivers behind the disabled are often neglected.Family caregivers are the main force of caring for the disabled,and in the long-term care process,caregivers often face multiple pressures and difficulties.Without corresponding support,it is easy to lead to physical,psychological,social and other issues,which have a negative impact on their lives and also affect the quality of life of the disabled.This study takes the family caregivers of the urban poor and disabled as the research object,based on the theory of social support,through the questionnaire survey,combined with semi-structured interview method to study the family caregivers of the poor and disabled in G community of J city.The study found that family caregivers of urban poor and disabled people face multiple pressures and difficulties,including unoptimistic physical conditions,growing psychological concerns,inadequate medical,rehabilitation and educational knowledge and skills,and lack of leisure,entertainment and social interaction.The overall level of social support for caregivers is low,which is manifested in the lack of material support policies for caregivers of disabled people;emotional support is weak and easily overlooked;the demand for information support is large but the channels are limited;lack of accompanying support deepens the loneliness of caregivers.The reasons for the weak social support of caregivers are analyzed from four aspects of formal,informal,quasi-formal and professional support.Under the guidance of social support theory,select the service object to carry out case study.From the stages of dialogue,discovery and development,the strategies such as personal network strategy,voluntary link strategy and mutual assistance are comprehensively used to intervene in the individual,family,community and other systems of the service object,enhance the social support network of the service object,explore resources and mobilize forces,and provide material support,emotional support and information support for the service object,so as to help the service object solve problems and alleviate pressure and difficulties.Finally,through the service object evaluation,community related personnel evaluation and self-evaluation,It is found that the service objectives are well realized,the level of social support of the service objects is improved,the needs of social support are satisfied,and the individual case service has achieved good results.The research proves that case work has a good effect on improving social support for family caregivers of urban poor and disabled people.
