Children are regarded by adults as "growing people" and labeled as "vulnerable groups".Therefore,from a problem perspective,children’s dominant position in community participation is marginalized.Children can only accept the "rational" arrangement of adults,and the needs of children’s community participation have not been adequately addressed.Can children become the main participants in community participation? Why are children involved in the community? What does the children’s community participate in? How do children participate in the community?This study is based on the advantages perspective,empowerment perspective,and social learning theory.Through interview and participatory observation methods,a practical study on community participation was conducted on children aged 12-15 in H community of Changzhou City.From the perspective of children,the author and children participate in the planning and design of the project together,and ultimately the children themselves negotiate to determine the community’s participation in the project.Social organizations intervene through group work to stimulate children’s enthusiasm for community participation,promote children’s adaptation and integration into group activities,and thereby enhance children’s awareness and ability to participate in the community.On the basis of investigating the current situation of children’s community participation in H community in Changzhou City,this study analyzes the problems and causes of children’s community participation,and conducts practical research through the Children’s Community Participation Project carried out by the HX organization in Changzhou City.This study suggests that at the community level,children’s community participation can enrich the connotation of community participation;At the social organization level,social organizations can provide resource links for children’s community participation;At the individual level,children can enhance their awareness and ability to participate in the community through social learning.Of course,the integration of social resources needs to be more systematic,the level of social work services needs to be more professional,and the design of social work projects needs to be more rational.
