On July 24,2021,the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Homework and Off-campus Training for Students in the Stage of Compulsory Education(Hereinafter referred to as "double reduction").It aims to solve the educational chaos caused by "involution" in the field of basic education.The mother is the main person in charge and planner of the child’s education,the impact on children’s educational achievement is expanding,and their coping behavior under the "double reduction" may be a key factor influencing the implementation of the "double reduction" policy.In the context of "double reduction",middle-class mothers as the main force of "chicken babies" are more representative and realistic,so it is very necessary to understand and explore the educational response of middle-class mothers under the "double reduction",this not only helps middle-class mothers relieve their anxiety about education,but also is the realistic basis for the state to continue to improve the "burden reduction" policy,which will help further promote the effective implementation of the "double reduction" policy.Therefore,this study used snowball sampling to conduct a questionnaire survey on middle-class mothers of students in the compulsory education stage in Guangzhou,fifteen mothers were selected for in-depth interviews;descriptive statistics and correlation analysis were used to analyze the cognitive status,anxiety and coping behavior of middle-class mothers on the "double reduction" policy;from the micro and macro perspectives,the reasons for the education of middle-class mothers under the background of "double reduction" are analyzed;based on Mc Clavelin’s policy implementation adaptation model,the optimization strategy of "double reduction" policy is proposed.The results show that:(1)Middle-class mothers in Guangzhou do not have a high understanding of the "double reduction" policy,and the proportion of those who hold a wait-and-see attitude is large,and there are certain concerns and lack of confidence in the continuous implementation of the policy.(2)Under the background of the "double reduction" policy,the education anxiety of middle-class mothers mainly comes from three aspects: educational reform,education acquisition,and education stratification.(3)There are three main types of educational coping behaviors of middle-class mothers under the "double reduction" policy: disguised supplementary classes,involution goal shifting,and paying attention to cultivating habits.(4)The reasons for the maladaptation of the middle-class mother’s policy mainly come from the parents’ own factors,environmental factors,policy factors,and social structure factors.Finally,based on Mc Laughlin’s policy implementation adaptation model,the optimization strategy of the "double reduction" policy is proposed: expanding policy recognition,improving relevant supporting measures,and improving the quality of school education.
