Modern company management should choose advanced performance management system,which can assist it to achieve long-term and short-term strategic objectives effectively and also resolve the overall strategic development objectives into specific strategic objectives,get effective two-way feedback between management and employees,and continuously improve the value of the company.First of all,the thesis describes the research backdrop and meaning,the relevant trends of Balanced Scorecard and performance management theory and application at home and abroad,confirms the work achievements of relevant researchers,puts forward the theoretical shortcomings,and describes the research approaches adopted at the same time;Then,it describes the main management theories and methods related to performance appraisal,compares the advantages and disadvantages of management approaches,and finally selects and applies the balanced scorecard;Thirdly,by understanding the general situation of China Life Insurance Company,and then through questionnaire survey and personal interview,the thesis explores the present state and various problems of performance appraisal of China Life Insurance;Then,it first puts forward the basic idea of China Life‘s performance management system using the balanced scorecard,and describes its strategic map through China Life‘s overall strategic objectives and specific practical development objectives at different levels,and then selects the most appropriate secondary indicators at different levels through the strategic map,The weight proportion of different levels and their secondary indicators is determined by analytic hierarchy process,and the overall comprehensive weight is calculated;Finally,Guided by a balanced scorecard,the thesis optimizes the performance management system of China Life Insurance,and improves the performance management system of China‘s insurance enterprises in theory and practice,in order to provide a scientific and reasonable performance management method for insurance company.In order to make its performance management work well reflect its actual situation,China life should pay more attention to non-financial indicators,and timely improve the Balanced Scorecard to make it have vitality and continuously play a role in the company‘s performance management.The study can not only enrich the theory of Balanced Scorecard,but also create a new way of performance management for insurance companies;At the same time,it can also help optimize and improve the performance management level of insurance companies to a great extent.
