| With more than 40 years of reform and opening up,SMEs,represented by knowledge generation and innovation, are facing new opportunities for development in the knowledge economy. However,SMEs do not focus on enterprise knowledge management and are under the misconception that only if they are large enough can they afford the high expenses required for knowledge management. As a matter of fact, knowledge management is crucial for any enterprise.Relying on their flexible organization and intellectual creativity,SMEs are more likely to benefit from the implementation of knowledge management when they are good at relying on the use of group intelligence to gain a competitive advantage in the retention of knowledgeable employees and the development of their growth period. The common challenge for SMEs is to capitalize on knowledge management during the growth process and to capture the key stages of knowledge transformation.According to the research results,in the three levels of individual, team and organization, company G has experienced the knowledge transformation of the three main levels in a separate closed loop, and between the three levels,it has also experienced the four successive completed SECI knowledge transformation processes of socialization, externalization, combination and internalization,in which innovation and creation are gradually active and eventually achieve explosive growth.Knowledge transformation thus builds up the core competence of the enterprise at different stages and successfully promotes the enterprise developing and growth of Company G.It examines knowledge management practices at each stage of Company G’s growth and summarizes the knowledge transformation model in each stage. The researcher found that Company G underwent internal transformation processes in each phase, and the knowledge transformation model was used in the development of the knowledge transformation framework, consisting of four key components: socialization, externalization, combination, and internalization. The core competencies of the company were developed at different stages through the transformation of knowledge, resulting in the successful growth of Company G.The study also reveals that behind the success of SME,there may be obstacles that must be overcome.Combining the theoretical model of knowledge transformation with the knowledge management practices and core competency formation process in the growth of Company G,the researcher concludes that knowledge transformation has contributed to the success of SMEs.Knowledge is the root of SMEs development and the air of competition between them.In conclusion, this study provides theoretical and practical implications for knowledge-intensive SMEs to develop knowledge management strategies within their enterprise development strategies. It also offers valuable insights for other enterprises in the industry to explore knowledge management practices and grasp the process of knowledge transformation. |
