In recent years,under the influence of Sino-US trade conflicts and the COVID-19 epidemic,China’s export-oriented manufacturing industry has been severely impacted.As a small export manufacturing company,Shenzhen SK is facing aggressive competitions in the market.How to optimize the company management system through effective management means in the uncertain environment has become an urgent matter for the company.Human resource management is an important management means for enterprises to gain competitive advantages and achieve strategic goals.Among them,performance appraisal,as a key component,can help enterprises improve their management level and long-term development ability and cope with market competition by starting from employee appraisal and incentive.Therefore,Shenzhen SK Company needs to continuously improve all aspects of performance appraisal in the change,so as to achieve employee motivation,enhance the operation efficiency of the whole company,maintain effective operation by using controllable factors,and turn the challenges into opportunities.First,this research takes the employee performance appraisal system of Shenzhen SK as the research object.Based on the systematic review of performance appraisal,performance management and other related literature,combined with the business model and development status of the Company,the current performance appraisal status of the company is investigated by questionnaires and interviews.Next,a detailed analysis of the existing problems and causes has been finished.It is found that there are several problems in the company’s performance appraisal,mainly including the unscientific assessment methods used,the unreasonable design of the assessment indicators,and the lack of effective usages of the appraisal results.Then,combined with the company’s strategic objectives,the company’s business plan and employee responsibilities are analyzed,the balanced scorecard and key performance indicator method are used to select appropriate assessment content from the company’s key targets,refine the assessment indicators of departments and employees,reasonably arrange the assessment subjects and cycles,set up performance appraisal tables,and optimize the current performance appraisal system to improve the company’s human resource management level and market competitiveness.Last,this research makes detailed implementation plans and measures to ensure the rigor of the assessment process and promote the sustainable development of the company.
