As the competition among enterprises intensifies, operations management within each enterprise has profound strategic significance to the survival and development of enterprises.Performance management, as one of the important parts in the enterprise operation and management, is playing a decisive role in daily administration. Based on the theory of the performance management, this paper adopts Literature Research Method, the Actual Survey Method and Expert Interview Method, etc. comprehensively, and designs a set of practical improved schemes on performance appraisal system according to the actual demand of the YSBY Company. The research findings are as follows:Firstly, this paper introduces some relevant theories of Performance Appraisal, including the basic constant and methods, elaborates the principles and features of Key Performance Indicator, Management By Object and The Balanced Score Card. So this part serves as the theoretical basis.Secondly, this paper analyzes the current Performance Appraisal System of YSBY Company, introduces the company’s profile, organizational structure and employees, and describes the implementation of performance appraisal system, including the classification of the appraisal objects, process and methods, incentive mechanism and the application of performance appraisal results.Thirdly, the author designs a questionnaire based on the Performance Appraisal System of YSBY Company. And by analyzing the feedback data comprehensively, we revealed some problems. For the above problems in performance appraisal of YSBY Company, this paper analyzes some reasons, which include the following aspects. The leadership attaches less importance to the performance appraisal system; the structure setting of the appraisal organization is unreasonable; the administrative staffs are short of relevant professional competence; the appraisal system lacks some improved links; not all the employeesparticipate in the process; the culture and the management concept of the enterprise is outdated. Therefore, this part serves as the basic analysis for the design and implementation of the performance appraisal system.Fourthly, in order to solve the existing problems mentioned above, we design the system to optimize YSBY Company’s performance appraisal. This paper first introduces the design principle, design ideas and preparing work, and then conducts the performance appraisal index and weight design according to different departments, leadership and employees, and designs the organizational model and appraisal cycle in implementing the system.Finally, the paper also gives the implemented suggestions of YSBY Company’s performance appraisal system, which includes the preparation before the implementation of performance appraisal; creating a good atmosphere to encourage the employees; selection and training of personnel; control of the process of performance appraisal implementation,strengthening the work of collecting information and the feedback and supervision of performance appraisal process; evaluation and application of the appraisal results. We ensure the successful implementation of the performance appraisal system by analyzing and illustrating its application of the assessment results and the implementation notes.In the meanwhile, the paper makes an analysis of the implantation effect after the optimization.In brief, this study hopes to have some reference value to the performance improvement and effectiveness enhancement of the YSBY Company.
