As the competition in the food industry continues to intensify,its development trend has gradually shifted from high-speed development to high-quality development.In order to grasp opportunities and meet challenges,many food enterprises actively introduce the concept of performance management to give full play to its "baton" role,lead all employees to focus on the target,unite and work hard for strategic achievement.However,many problems have emerged in the practice of performance management,resulting in unsatisfactory execution effect and slowing down the pace of high-quality development of enterprises.As the middle force of an enterprise,middle managers are not only the participants in strategy formulation,but also the implementer.Their performance will directly affect the achievement of organizational goals.Meanwhile,production and processing,as the key link of food enterprises,will greatly affect their own survival and development.In view of this,during the transformation of food enterprises,it is of great significance to carry out research on the optimization of performance management of middle managers in production departments for the transformation and upgrading of enterprises.Taking M Company as the research object,this dissertation mainly studies the current problems in the performance management of middle managers in the production department of the company.Taking management by objectives theory and PDCA theory as the analysis framework,it investigates and analyzes the current situation of performance management of middle managers in the production department of the company by using questionnaire survey and interview method.This dissertation explores the problems existing in performance management of middle managers in production departments and puts forward optimization strategies.The main problems include unreasonable performance planning,inadequate performance implementation and supervision,unscientific performance evaluation,imperfect performance communication and feedback mechanism,and inadequate application of performance results.Based on the existing problems in performance management of middle managers in production departments and the causes of the problems,optimization strategies are proposed from five aspects: formulating reasonable performance plans,strengthening the supervision and communication of performance implementation,carrying out scientific and effective performance evaluation,perfecting the performance communication feedback mechanism,and making full use of performance results.By optimizing the performance management of middle managers in the production department of M Company,it can effectively play its connecting role in operation and management,further stimulate their inherent potential and enhance the competitive advantage of enterprise talents.At the same time,it also provides a certain degree of reference for other food enterprises to improve the level of performance management.
