Preliminary Research On Mould And Protection Of Small Town Identity In The Landlocked Drainage Area Of The Northwest

21st century is the century of cities and towns. And the identity of cities and towns already become important factor to attract stream of people, material flow, fund flow, and information flow during the new period. Inherently, how to seize the opportunity to explore the characteristics, including historical gentle pulse, cultural tradition, national religion, the economy and industry, resource and environment of the town fully, to construct characteristic towns which possess graceful environment, prosperous economy, stable society and distinctive features, is the way of Improving region image, the investment climate and ecological environment, and it is the key of driving the area to sustainable, fast and coordinate development as soon as possible, and it is also one of the ways to narrows disparity between the west area and the whole country in various fields.The landlocked drainage area in the northwest occupy vast area , and mere are the special environment, abundant resources , numerous nationalities, deep cultural bottom and the area which is the front of the development of western region and open westwards, and it is also the area demands urgently to accelerate the process of rural urbanization, so research on the urban characteristic question of this area has important theory value and far-reaching social work meaning. The article chooses Jiuquan, Gansu Province as the example, on the basis of analyzing the cases and reasons why the towns lacking characteristics, the author puts forward concrete measures and policy suggestions.We suggested after research mat:(1) The shortage of characteristics of the towns comes from many factors in the region. The Eco-environment lacks natural beauty, the level of industrial structure is low; the enterprises arrangement is scattered; and the facility construction lags behind; town management is sloppy; town image design is lack, and there are the misunderstanding to human settlements improvement, the "acute disease" in progress of construction.(2) There are many conditions suitable for building the characteristic small towns to explore in the area, such as resource, culture, nationality, industry, etc. and the new thought theory in the field of world building and urban planning, national macroscopic policy also provide favorable external environment conditions.(3) The complexity of characteristic and identity of small town determined that the progress of mould small town identity requests townscape design to go on with characteristic economic construction and cultural industry development at the same time, requiring policies and regulations and appraising system restrain and guide together.(4) The merge of villages and towns, town governance, and view aesthetic feeling quantity arenecessary and meaningful to mould characteristic towns.
