Non-materiality In Architectural Creation

The environment which we live has got into a non-material society. In this society, the building is no longer be a technical product, and change into a aggregate of non-material information gradually. Practicability, logic, economy, efficiency are no longer basic prerequisites for the architectural design. The element of the non-material becomes the core content in design. The reduction in materiality and enhancement in non-materiality become the main characteristic of architectural design in information society. Therefore, in the contemporary architectural design, the idea of design based on non-materiality becomes the core question.The thesis on the basic of non-materiality concept, and systematic expound in theoretical source,analyse the non-material thinking which embody in architectural practice deeply. Further more, the article put forward the idea of"mentally livability"in architectural creation of non-materiality.Section three: be aimed at the non-material expression in the architectural creation,the article deem an idea which the basic architecture education should adapt epochal demand,and put forward a train model of breakthrough in thinking mode and promote comprehensive ability in thinking. And then the article put forward an idea of"thinking construction"which base on six main abilities: the ability of perception, the ability of observation, the ability of analysis, the ability understanding, the ability creation.
