The meaning of the term is a general reflection of objective things or phenomena in people's the consciousness, and by the this language national convention in the process of social communication. From the point of view of the relations between the amount of words contained in the meaning of words and word sense, can be divided into different meaning categories, such as single synonym, polysemous words, synonyms, antonyms. However, since to the formation of meaning has the characteristics of the national character of Chinese antonyms and Mongolian antonyms existing common, but also some of their own characteristics. In this regard, China and Mongolia, linguists have noticed a little, and has made considerable results of in this respect.This research paper is written on the basis of previous studies on antonym which is aim for combine and compare Chinese and Mongolian antonym and its characteristics, in this research paper contrastive linguistics, cultural linguistics and cognitive linguistics theory research methods are used as theory guide in order to reveal the similarities and differences between two languages'antonyms. The thesis consists of seven chapters. Comparative study of the first chapter is introduction, first reviewed the research history on the Chinese and Mongolian antonyms, two countries linguists'understanding on the antonyms, including their predecessors' comparative studies achievement on the Chinese and Mongolian antonyms. Secondly, the first chapter of this research paper briefly introduced its research importance, research method, source and structure of the article etc.The research paper's main text is consist of chapter second to sixth. In the chapter second to forth, author aimed to research antonym words from the semantic classification, structure, and pragmatics field and to conduct comparative research on Chinese and Mongolian antonyms. On the basis of introducing Chinese and Mongolian antonyms characteristics, this article can reveal similarities and differences between Chinese and Mongolian antonyms. In the chapter fifth to sixth, author aimed to research antonym words from the cultural background and aspects of cognitive psychology and conduct comparative research on the antonyms of Chinese and Mongolian, on the other hand the article can reveal similarities and differences between Chinese and Mongolian antonyms. Chapter second to chapter forth is the descriptive analysis on the antonyms whereas Chapter fifth to chapter sixth is the explanatory research. The former is basically in the internal micro perspective studies of linguistics, the latter is in the external linguistics macro perspective.Chapter seven is conclusion. The conclusion part introduced academic and practical value of comparative studies on the Chinese and Mongolian antonyms including further research value of the Chinese and Mongolian language studies, supplementary value of the Chinese and Mongolian culture studies, inspiring value of the Chinese and Mongolian translation practice, as well as the main guide value of the second language teaching etc. Finally, the author reflects shortages and weak sides of the paper and introduced author's idea and initial intention in order to deepen the further research on the antonym studies.
