From the point of view of perfecting contents, indexes and methods of highway construction post-evaluation, the author conducts in-depth research for main contents of highway construction post-evaluation. The studying contents of the paper contain traffic forecast technique, traffic safety evaluation, traffic engineering facilities system analysis, social economy influence evaluation, sustainable development evaluation, direct benefit evaluation, environment influence evaluation, space structure influence of circumjacent cities, highway construction objects evaluation and synthetic evaluation. The purpose of research lies in promoting scientific management of highway construction and sustainable development of highway construction and highway network.In the aspect of research about process evaluation of highway construction, the traffic forecast methods were systematically analyzed, theory basis was provided for reasonable predicating traffic volume of highway. Analysis and calculation for induced traffic volume are an important process of traffic planning and project feasibility study. After macro-analysis for production features of induced traffic volume and the relation between traffic demand and supply and induced traffic, based on trips behaviour varying because of road construction , this paper further analyses production mechanism of induced traffic volume, then quantity calculating model for induced traffic volume was formed. Based on total investment processes of expressway construction, this paper elementarily discusses the expressway traffic safety audit contents, audit checklists of pre-operation and operation stage, safety audit quantification methods, and points out that the expressway traffic safety audit is an effective method of saving investment and preventing traffic accidents. A main symbol of modernization expressway possesses scientific and advanced engineering facilities system, yet traffic engineering facilities system analyzing and evaluating of expressway network plays an important role in constructing and operating. Through systematically studying on traffic engineering facilities system, a good foundation is established about improving expressway design, construction, management, operation, traffic safety and saving investment.In the aspect of research about social economy influence evaluation, the paper points to social economy benefit should be evaluated from two respect of qualitative and quantitative analyses. In quantitative analyses, three models about Investment and Output, Econometrics and System Dynamics of calculating social economy benefit are introduced and strongpoint and disadvantage of these models are analyzed. For forming applied quantitative model, variables choice methods about highway social economy benefit quantification based on artificial neural network and gray relevance degree are put forward. Considering calculation simplicity and operation practicability, a simple method of calculating social economy benefit is put forward.In the aspect of research about sustainable development evaluation, a viewpoint is put forward that highway construction should be evaluated from the point of view of sustainable development and should be quantitatively analyzed. Based on understanding on highway construction sustainable development, an evaluation indexes system is put forward andestablished. For making quantitative analyses in sustainable development evaluation, an evaluation method-AHP is put forward, and other evaluation methods based on DAGF arithmetic and attribute measure function arithmetic are discussed.In other aspects of post-evaluation research, environment influence evaluation, direct benefit evaluation, space structure influence of circumjacent cities, highway construction objects evaluation and synthetic evaluation are systematically studied.In the aspect of demonstration analyses about partial research contents, based on the research about Xi'an~Baoji expressway, partial research contents, namely traffic volume forecast analysis, social economy infl...
