Research On Supply Chain Coordination With Option Contracts

Supply chain members usually belong to several relatively independent entities, which make them primarily concerned with optimizing their own objectives that are not always aligned with the performance needed by the supply chain system, which result in the poor performance of the supply chain. The information technology and the diversity customer's demand lead the market demands highly uncertain and the supply chain's organization structure more complex, so how to design the coordination mechanism that make the supply chain effective, increase the members' profits, coordinate the supply chain become significant in the practice.The dissertation surveys the supply chain contracts research progress firstly, then set up the basic portfolio contract model that make the supply chain coordination realize. According to the thought of progressive extension, concerning with the various information structures and organization structures of the two-stage semiconductor products supply chain, we study the decision behaviors of agents on supply chain under the demand updating and asymmetric demand information setting. Then, the single supplier selling to a single retailer both in the contract markets and the e-marketplace is studied in the following. The coordination model for the multiple retailers and single supplier is extended.In the end, the multiple suppliers and multiple retailers' operation model is set. For each setting, the behavior of a risk-neutral centralized supply chain is optimized in the expected profit as a benchmark, and then the feasible option contract is designed for the decentralized supply chain which maximizes their expected profit as the centralized supply chain does. Concretely, our contributions are as following:1. The classic supply chain contracts models are set up. Evolution of supply chain contract research is studied and taxonomy of the supply chain contracts is built up. Based on the taxonomy, different supply chain contract models are made and their coordination mechanisms are discussed and the contracts' parameters are given in the end.2. The portfolio contract model which makes the supply chain coordinate is set up. The option contract designed by Barnes-Schuster is revised via considering the products' different salvage in the supplier and the retailer firstly. According to the expect profits in the newsvendor and the centralized supply chain as bench marker, we make the decentralized supply chain coordination realize by the portfolio contract which designed based on the wholesale contract and the revised option contract. The optimal contract parameters are given in the end.
