When teaching Chinese language to foreigners various types, different features, using methods, too much frequency in student’s books, verifications and negative forms are all mind-boggling things for foreign students. This is the issue which attracts the attention of the foreigners and teachers, those who is learning Chinese language. Directional Complements in Chinese grammar are a relatively complex phenomenon and there are no such directional complements in Mongolian language which gives good influences in learning and possessing of Chinese language for Mongolian students. This could be also the major base of learning Chinese language for Mongolian students. Therefore, the research on how Mongolian students are learning Chinese complements, particularly learning directional complements is theoretically and practically vital in Chinese language study in Mongolia. Furthermore, this is also a practical subject in teaching methods of Chinese grammar, especially in teaching Chinese complements. This diploma work is based on the previous scholars’ research works, realistic experiments of linguistics and description writing summaries, and the comparison was made between Chinese complements and its structure of how that fits Mongolian language system. Firstly, the analysis was made in allocation of directional complements and all its meanings showing directions which are expressed by directional complements. Then it was clearly described how the Chinese directional complements are expressed in Mongolian language. Finally, the analysis was made in mistakes that Mongolian students make when learning Chinese directional complements. The paper includes five chapters and the contents of each chapter are briefly described as follows.Chapter1includes the main reason of writing this diploma work, the research works of previous scholars, the methods of study of diploma, the value and researches of the usage of directional complements. In Chapter2there was outlined the determining point and allocation of directional complements. In previous researches of the scholars, we found that the meaning is dependent on its characteristics of the directional verbs. In present day, there is not any summaries were made how to determine directional verbs which stand after the main verbs. Therefore, I did not distinguish directional verbs which stand after the main verbs; however the allocation was made based on the meanings of the directional complements only. This will be more helpful for Mongolian students to learn Chinese complements and its circumlocution.Numerous researches are been conducted by many scholars on directional complements. This diploma work maintains research allocations of... using the terminology of "routine and direction" and made analysis in24directional complements. In Chapter3, we tend to complement with the syntax of object location for the card. Directional complements are more complex in forms and there are single directional complements and double directional complements. Double directional complements carry objects and have many links in locations. We studied the locations when single directional complements and double directional complements would carry various objects in sentences and the harmony with the locations of those directional complements.Detailed description of the trend from the simple to the complex tend to complement with different kinds of object can be the location of emerging syntax, and sorted out the location of the object of restraining factors. As follows:1. tend to complement the form of a simple or complex forms.2. Tend to complement the meaning of that is in the direction of extending the meaning or significance.3. The nature of objects, such as whether the premises, the word is definite or indefinite means.4. Action that is already occurring in the first place. In Chapter4, based on the above3chapters, it was mentioned that how the Chinese directional complements are more suitably expressed in Mongolian language. The main feature of this chapter is to make observations and descriptions how the Chinese directional complements are suitably expressed in Mongolian language, in a proper harmony. Directional verbs exist both in Chinese and Mongolian languages and they all express figurative meanings. However, Chinese directional complements are not necessarily expressed by directional verbs in Mongolian language. Consequently they need to be translated by the appropriate words. In Chapter5, the analysis was made in mistakes which made by Mongolian students when learning Chinese directional complement. Various complements take more proportions in making mistakes by Mongolian students when learning Chinese, especially there are many mistakes made when learning directional complement. Therefore, based on previous scholars’ researches, comparative linguistics and methods, the analysis was made in the structures and the meanings of Chinese directional complement. The mistakes were revealed during written tests which were taken among the students and based on that the study was made how the Chinese directional complement will be expressed in harmony with Mongolian language. The written test was taken among89students of2-4grades from Mongolian National University and Otgontenger University, respectively. Based on the test results, we found what kinds of mistakes are made among the students. Accordingly, the comments were made in that what would be the better methods when teaching Chinese directional complement for students.
