The youth is the future of our country and the hope of the nation. Resourceful youths lead to a resourceful nation; strong youths lead to a strong country.In any era, youth are the most energetic, creative, and productive groups in the society. The young teachers in the colleges and universities are about one of the excellent groups of young people. They are quick in thinking, willing to accept new things, mastering a lot of advanced science and technology. They are the successor of the socialist cause with Chinese characteristics. The research on the values of young teachers in colleges and universities concerns China’s future and development. Nowadays,in economic globalization and informationization, the diversification of value has become the new trend. As social conditions change, the current Chinese value is not single or integrated, but showing a pattern of multiple coexistence. "Diversity" has become a significant feature of the value of our country. In the context of value pluralism, it is important to study the values of young teachers in colleges and universities. It is not only to strengthen the construction of university teachers, but also to improve the quality of higher education and to deepen the theory and practice of ideological and political education.Values, as a kind of ideology, has its own theoretical sources. The classics of Marx and Engels is as a treasure of human thinking for value, rich in insightful theories. The concept of democracy in“Critique of Hegel’s Philosophy”, the thoughts of equality in“Manuscript of Economical Philosophy in 1844”, honest and friendly ideas in“Outline on Feuerbach”, subject consciousness in“German Ideology”are all theoretical source of today’s values. In the context of China’s Marx doctrine, generations of leaders have new understandings and development of values. Comrade Mao Zedong talked a lot about the values of the exposition, such as freedom, democracy, love and so on in the Chinese revolution and construction period. As the general designer of the socialism with Chinese characteristics and the guide of China’s reform and opening up, Comrade Deng Xiaoping played a very important role in Chinese spiritual civilization construction. Comrade Deng Xiaoping led our nation embarking on the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics and committed to China’s great rejuvenation and modernization, in which the values are of greater significance. They are mainly reflected in the pursuit of national prosperity, the pursuit of social development and the pursuit of personal happiness. Entering into a new historical period, the thought of "Three Represents" by Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao’s “Scientific Outlook on Development, and Xi Jinping’s “Chinese Road and Chinese Dreams” are the enrichment and development of values. The values of university teachers has a profound cultural tradition, while it also faces the challenge of the times. The diversified community and cultural globalization pose threat to it. The modern transformation and reconstruction of traditional values concept must adhere to the basic principle of “make the past serve the present, make foreign things serve China, discard the dross and select the essential, eliminate the false and retain the true”. Under this principle, the traditional values can be organically integrated with the modern state, society civic values.Values of young college teachers formed gradually in practice on the basis of concept formation. It is a stable belief or mindset generated on the basis of their needs and interests towards certain object. It reflects the contemporary young college teachers’ emotion, desire and demand, stipulating their attitudes and behavior. The values of young teachers in colleges and universities is closely related to the background of the times. Every era, people are inevitably affected by the political and economic environment. The values of college teachers in every generation are all profoundly marked by the era. From the founding of the PRC to the beginning of the 80’s, an outstanding characteristics of the collage teachers’ values is state outweighs individual. At that time, values of the teachers in colleges and the whole nation were significantly neat and uniform, which could be summarized as erasing everyone’s personality and defined as highly unified national supreme collectivism values. With the deepening of reform and opening up, not only the national economy but also people’s mind, college teachers’ self-consciousness were paid attention. They could pursue their own valuable things and tolerance between people was also enhanced. Most college teachers believe there is no universal change in the code of conduct, taking the attitude of tolerance to others’ way of life and behavior. After 90 s in the twentieth century, with the deepening of reform and opening up in the whole nation, especially with the establishment of the socialist market economic system, personal interests began to enter people’s eyes. People began to pay attention to a person’s individual value, gradually being aware of perfect collectivism was abstract and one-sided in planned economy period. Perfect collectivism put collective interests and personal interests in opposition, though served for a certain period but was not sustainable. Under such background, self-consciousness of university teachers is established. The pursuit of personal interests, emphasizing the value of oneself is the core values of the socialist values in this period. Under the new historical conditions, it is an irreversible trend to confirm and affirm the validity of the individual’s legitimate interests, so that each person’s ability and wisdom can be played. After the 16 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as the party began to reflect on the problems in the reform and opening up, especially the overemphasis over money which helped people and college teachers viewing money and personal interests more rationally. Contemporary university teachers no longer pursue perfect collectivism nor utilitarianism of personal interests, but finding their own value in the collective, gradually highlights the subjective consciousness of their own. They are fully aware of the compatibility of the individual and collective interests and strive to achieve a balance between the state and the individual, seeking the unity of personal values and national interests.To truly and clearly understand the young college teachers’ values currently, the author has carried on the investigation to get first-hand information, in order to understand the latest changes in thinking and values at the present under the multicultural social background and to provides strong data and content support for this study. The respondent are young teachers in colleges and universities under the age of 35(including 35 years old), adopting anonymous questionnaire survey. The questionnaires, according to the needs and ideas, were distributed to more than 26 universities which have primary, intermediate and advanced levels of young teachers. A total of 400 people filled out the questionnaire, which was divided into four parts: basic information, the present work & state of mind, views on socialist core values and views on the current social and cultural pluralism. Survey found that the young college teachers’ values, on the practical level, material value outweighs spirit value, the value of science and technology outweighs humanistic value, present value outweighs long-term value, personal utility outweighs social welfare. The existence of these problems, since the school is to the realize the basic task of socialist colleges, is not conducive to enhance the construction of college teachers’ morality, nor to the construction of the humanities. For scientific research, on the one hand, it will affect the formation of a good style of study; on the other hand, it also seriously damaged the credibility and image of college teachers. It is not conducive to the improvement of the quality of higher education. For teaching, the attitude of the class is just to complete the teaching tasks, not serious in lesson preparations, lack of attention to the teaching effect. For students, it is not conducive to guide college students to achieve the socialist core values of identity, nor to cultivating college students as adult talent and comprehensively guiding. Reasons of these problems are inseparable with the changing times, changes in the interest structure and social power transfer, diversified value evaluation and shifts in social direction. They are profoundly affects values of teachers in colleges and universities. These changes make the young teachers values change characteristic of the planned economy shifting to the market economy, the competition in market economy and the continues improvement of socialist market economic system. In a society present where social structure is undergoing profound changes, the values changes are also characteristic of the in-depth and violent differentiation of interest, the profound changes in ideas and culture, historic changes of synchronic superposition, change from elite culture to mass culture, from political oriented to economic oriented.The 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China party put forward to cultivating and practicing the socialist core values. As young teachers in colleges, they are supposed to appeal to the call from the Party, cultivating the core values of socialism. It is urgent to integrate the socialist core values with the work and life of young teachers in colleges, and to cultivate and guide the core values of socialism. Therefore, to cultivate and lead the value of young college teachers, firstly, we need to strengthen the socialist core values education of young teachers in colleges, which needs to strengthen the identity of socialist core values and urge the practice. Secondly, we need to strengthen the Chinese traditional education of young teachers, which includes the traditional teacher’s ethics education as well as the requirements of the new era of professional ethics. Thirdly, we need is to strengthen the spirit of the older generation of intellectuals, which contains patriotism, the spirit of devotion to science, selfless character and indifferent to fame. Fourthly, we need to enhance the security mechanism of the young college teachers’ value implementation, which requires us to fully understand the legitimacy of the young college teachers’ demands, to accurately locate the position of young teachers in colleges and universities, to spare no efforts to build the comprehensive quality of young teachers, to effectively solve the life problems of young teachers, and to actively create a good atmosphere for university culture innovation.theoretical proposition of academic circles, which needs to be solved imminently.
