| The flower industry has made a great progress by thirty years’development and gradually become an emerging industry in China. According to the statistics, the flower production total area is only14000hectare, amount of sales is RMB60millions, amount of exports is＄0.2millions in1984. In2010year, the flower production total area is917600hectare, amount of sales is RMB8619.6millions, amount of exports is＄46.3millions. Comparing with these in1984, the flower production total area, amount of sales and exports respectively have been increased68times,143times and231times. China has become the largest flower production base, more important flowers’consumer and flowers exports trading nation, and the flower production area and output all take the first place in the world.In the increasing development of China’s flower industry, cluster phenomena are emerging remarkable. Typical flower industry clusters in Yunnan, Guangdong,Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and so on are developing fast.The flower industry clusters’ developing size, connection between the companies, enterprises’ agglomeration degree, enterprise vitality and enterprises performance are continuously enhance. At the same time, we find the phenomenon:the enterprises performance is uplifting with development of the flower industry cluster network. Then, we perceive the essence through the appearance. We think that it is undoubtedly necessary to the research of the flower industry cluster network impacting the enterprises performance, especially under the lack of study on this problem in our country at present.The main factors of the flower industry cluster network impacting the enterprises performance are the network structure(network density, network centrality and network intensity) and network body behaviors(enterprises competition and cooperation,network resource utilization).The interrelation, interweave, interdependence of these factors influence jointly and decide the enterprises performance, that has been proved by correlation theoretical and empirical study.However, with the deep theoretical research, the study shew:the industry cluster network impacting the enterprises performance is changeable and distinguishing because the difference of the enterprises and the continency factors.Based on the related research in hand, although these study outlined the clusters’ network characteristics and the enterprises’competitive advantage provided by the clusters’ network, the research of the relationship on the mechanism of action, differentiation,the continency factors,network evolution and the enterprises performance are still insufficient, and the existing results have still certain divergence. Therefore, the paper will proceed more deeply and more carefully analysis from the aspects of the relationship of the differentiation, the continency factors, network evolution and the enterprises performance.This paper chooses the flower industry cluster network in our country as the research object, analyzes the current situation,characteristics and the development trend of the flower industry cluster network and the enterprises performance in our country; explores the the mechanism of action based on the industry cluster theory and network theory; analyzes more deeply and more carefully from the aspects of the relationship of the differentiation, the continency factors, network evolution and the enterprises performance applying the continency theory and life-cycle theory. The results of the research hopes to provide the reference for the theory study and policy-making. The paper includes nine chapters, its specific research contents and results as follow:1.The current situation,characteristics and the development trend of the flower industry cluster network and the enterprises performance in our countryThe paper calculates and analyzes systematically current situation,characteristics and the development trend of the flower industry cluster network and the enterprises performance in our country from2000year to2011year based on the data of the flower production area, production value, numbers of the enterprises, employee and professional and technical persons in30provinces(regions and cities) in China, from the flower industry clusters’ developing size, connection between the companies, enterprises’ agglomeration degree, enterprise vitality and enterprises performance. The research finds:①the flower industry clusters’developing size, connection between the companies, enterprises’agglomeration degree, enterprise vitality and enterprises performance shows the trend to increase constantly, but the entirety is lower and unevenly develop.The eastern part is strong and western part is weak;②The eastern part with the flower industry clusters’ developing well in our country has the higher enterprises performance;The western part with the flower industry clusters’ developing badly in our country has the lower enterprises performance.It is thus clear that the flower industry cluster network and the enterprises performance in our country exist the positive relationship.2.The mechanism of action on the flower industry cluster network and the enterprises performance in our countryCombining existing related literatures, the research analyzes and puts forward the concept models that the flower industry clusters’ network affects the enterprises’ performance and raises some relevant research assumptions, by following the analytic logic of "structure—behaviors—performance", the theoretical frame "network structure—network body—network resource—performance". We analyze the260questionnaires of the enterprises that operate in the Chencun flower industry cluster and utilize the testing factors analysis, exploratory factors analysis and structural equation model. The results of research show:the network structure indirectly and markedly impact the enterprises’ performance by directly influencing the bodies’action.The bodies’action directly and markedly impacts the enterprises’performance.3.Differences of effects of flower industry cluster networks toward various enterprises performance We compare the difference of the effects that clusters’ network exerts to the enterprises performance which have different scale and different type based on the260questionnaires of the enterprises that operate in the Chencun flower industry cluster. The research discoveries the differences:There is no remarkable and direct influence of the network centrality and the network density to network resource in supply enterprises; Network centrality do not exert direct influence to the enterprises’body in the supply and small-scale enterprises.4.The influence on the flower industry cluster network to the bodies behavior based on the continency factorsThe research puts forward the concept models that the flower industry clusters’ network affects the bodies behaviors and raises some relevant research assumptions based on the literature research. We analyze the119questionnaires of the enterprises that operate in the Lingnan flower market and Guangzhou flower expo park and utilize the testing factors analysis, exploratory factors analysis, correlation analysis and multivariate statistics regression, and analyze more deeply and more carefully adjustment function on the environment change and enterprises technical strategy to the network structure and network body behaviors. The results of research show:There are the adjustment function on the environment change and enterprises technical strategy to the network structure and network body behaviors.Specially speaking, the environment change has the adjustment function to network centrality、network intensity and enterprises bodies as well as network density and network resource; the enterprises technical strategy has the adjustment function to the network intensity and enterprises bodies, network density and network resource.5.Influence on the flower industry cluster network evolution in our country to the enterprises performanceTaking Yunnan flower industry cluster as an example, this paper studies the influence on the process of Yunnan flower industry cluster network evolution(network structure and the bodies behavior) to the enterprises performance according to difference environment change and enterprises technical strategy.The results of research show:when the network structure and network body behaviors at the different developmental stages changes, the flower enterprises performance also happens to change accompanying the flower industry cluster network evolution, according to difference environment change and enterprises technical strategy.Throughout the entire text, three aspects are expanded and deepened:(1) A new research perspective is provided for study on the industrial cluster and enterprises performanceBase on the clusters’ network perspective, this paper sets about connotation and characteristics and establish a analysis framework of clusters’ network "network structure--enterprises competition and cooperation--network resource utilization".In this paper, network structure is a significant antecedent. With the fusion of two central variables enterprises competition and cooperation and network resource utilization, the effect of the flower industry clusters’network on the performance is studied. This is different from previous research about economic geography or economics, which only focuses on the perspectives about economies of scale, economies of scope, specialization, increasing returns, transaction costs and transportation costs.(2)The theoretical model "network structure—bodies ’behavior—enterprises’ performance" is constructed, which has certain innovation in the analysis perspective and theoretical model.This paper borrows the existing theoretical achievements of industry cluster theory, and network theory. And it takes the lead to do research in the unified theoretical framework of the flower industry clusters’ network structure, bodies’ behavior and the enterprises performance. Systematic researches of interaction effects of these variables are also preceded. In the integral theoretical model, by using empirical study, the relations of these variables are objectively revealed, and interactive effects in the variables are discovered quantificationally. And the previous research shows that, only specific variables and their relation to the performance are discussed.(3) The research provides a beneficial supplement to the continency theory and life-cycle theory.This paper analyzes empirically the mechanism of action on the flower industry cluster network and the enterprises performance in our country applying the comparative study method, the multiple regression method and the case analysis method, based on the differentiation, the continency factors and network evolution. This kind of research is relatively rare in current documents.Therefore, our research could broaden the study area of the relationship between the flower industry clusters’ network and the enterprises’ performance, at the same time, serves as an advantageous supplement to the continency theory and life-cycle theory. |
