Road,transportation and economic corridor are the essential and strategic tools for prosperity,social improvement,economic development,regional cohesion and solidarity in the region.It is consider as a main indicator for regional development in the modern world.Transport infrastructure and transportation has been considered engine for economic growth.This study empirically investigates the perceived social conseqencies of China Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC),in the domain of education and health of the local people of Pakistan.To accomplish the main aim of the objectives(perceived social consequences of CPEC)of the current study a total of five variables were used including,two exogenous variables i.e.perceived accessibility and perceived employment while the rest of three variables perceived income,perceived education and perceived health are the endogenous variables.The perceived income play role as a mediating variable among perceived accessibility,perceived employment,and,perceived education and perceived health of the local residents.To accomplish the above mention objective a comprehensive questionnaire was designed on the selected variables of the study to findout the effect of CPEC on the local residents of Pakistan.The in-hand data were collected from the educated respondents of seven district of Hazara division i.e.Mansehra,Abbottabad,Haripure,Torghar,Lower Kohistan,Upper Kohistan and Batagram in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan.The validity and reliability of in-hand data were evaluated through Cronbach's Alpha,mean and standard deviation.Exploratory factor analysis(EFA)and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA)were performed for further analysis and validity of the questionnaire.To examine the relationship of the observed variables,exogenous and endogenous latent variables structure equation modeling(SEM)analysis were used through Analysis of moment structure(AMOS)and Statistical program for social sciences(SPSS)version 20.In this study it is explored that CPEC perceived effect on accessibility has a direct significant positive effect on perceived education of the local residents.It exhibited that CPEC accessibility will improve the local people education.Similarly,it is found that perceived effect of accessibility has a direct positive effect on health of the local residents.CPEC accessibility will improve the health standard of the local people of Pakistan.The current study explored that CPEC perceived effect on employment has a direct significant positive effect on the education of the local residents.Moreover,it was explored in this study that perceived effect of CPEC on accessibility has a direct positive significant effect on health of the local dwellers;similarly,CPEC perceived effect on employment has a direct positive effect on health of the local dwellers of Pakistan.The current study added that perceived income plays a positive mediating role between perceived accessibility and education.Similarly,CPEC perceived effect on income mediate the positive effect of accessibility on health of the local residents of Pakistan.Furthermore,this study found that income positively mediate the perceived effect of employment on perceived education of the local dwellers.Moreover,perceived income plays a positive mediating role between employment and health of the local resident.The demographic factors respondent's education,age and gender has been examined as a control variable and found that respondents age,gender and education has no direct effect on perceived education and perceived health.Moreover,the demographic factors respondent's education,gender and age has also been investigated as a moderating variables and found that demographic factor has no moderating effect on perceived education and perceived health except the moderating role of gender between perceived accessibility and perceived education of the local people of the study area.It is revealed from the study that CPEC has tremendous consequences on education and health of the people.CPEC will provide an excellent educational opportunities and standard health for the local residents of Pakistan.Government authorities and policy maker can get guidelines from the current research for the formulation of educational and health development policies and coping the related issues.Future guideline is provided in this particular research.
