Since the 1990 s,the process of world multi-polarization,economic globalization,social informatization,cultural diversification and educational internationalization has been accelerating rapidly.The rapid development of China's economy and society in the new era also puts forward more and more new missions and new requirements for higher education and the training of talents in higher education institutions.To actively welcome and adapt to the trend of international development of higher education in the new era and make every effort for the training of high-quality innovative internationalized talents has become the sacred duty and mission for many colleges and universities in China.Entitled A Study on the Training of Internationalized Talents in Newly-established Regional Undergraduate Normal Universities---A Case of Yunnan Province,this thesis takes seven of the newly-established regional undergraduate normal universities in Yunnan province,which is located in the underdeveloped region in west China as its research samples,and by adopting an integrated use of three research methods including documentary,questionnaire survey and interview,closely focuses on an in-depth study of the two fundamental problems of what type of internationalized talents to train and how to conduct the training of those ideal internationalized talents in those universities in Yunnan province.The thesis attempts to answer the following three basic questions.First,what is the current situation of the training of internationalized talents in those newly established regional undergraduate normal universities? Second,what are the main problems,difficulties and solutions? Third,which ways can be used to help those institutions to cultivate high-quality and applied internationalized talents?This study shows that at present,the status quo of the training of internationalized talents in most newly-established regional undergraduate normal universities in Yunnan is not so optimistic.For instance,the foundation for the training of internationalized talents in those universitites is not so solid.The training objective orientation of is not so clear,and the training mode is relatively simple.Besides,in the training process,the pertinence and effectiveness of teachers,their teaching methods and results as well as their professional development,international awareness and the level of participation are all waiting to be improved.In most majors,the proportion of international curriculum is relatively low and the international elements in the teaching contents are not enough.In addition,the learning goals of students,their learning attitudes and motivations,learning process and outcomes,and their international vision and the level of realization are all to be improved.The construction of the quality assurance system for internationalized talents of those universities is far from perfect.Furthermore,the idea of internationalized talents training in most universities is not so advanced and some of the policies and management have not yet fully coordinated and some top-level design and rules and regulations are strongly restrictive.And finally,the shortage of funds,the quality of the faculty team,the difficult situation of studying abroad,the number of jointly collaborative programs as well as the campus international atmosphere are all away from satisfactory.In view of the above problems,this thesis attempts to adopt a novel approach,which is based on a six-in-one mode of training objective,strategy,teaching,curriculum,learning,and quality assurance to the training of internationalized talents in those newly-established regional undergraduate normal universities.This approach takes the training of internationalized talents as its objective,adjusting to local conditions and putting people first as its strategy,the effective teaching of teachers as its guiding direction,the structural system of the curriculum design and the teaching contents as its core,the students' independent study and self-development as its means,and the construction of the quality assurance system as its support.The above six components are relatively independent but are internally connected,and together they make a relatively complete closed-loop system for internationalized talents training in the hope that it can play a better role in promoting and assuring the quality of the training of internationalized talents in newly-established regional undergraduate normal universities in Yunnan province.
