The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of ethical leadership on job performance outcomes namely task performance,organizational citizenship behavior and creativity.We also consider psychological safety and psychological ownership as mediating variables and leader member exchange as our moderating variable to check the nexus between ethical leadership and job performance outcomes.In this study,a questionnaire-based survey method was used to collect the data from different hotels in Shandong province and east China.The data was collected from both employees and leaders of the specific hotels.The empirical findings of the study suggest that ethical leadership has a positive and significant impact on task performance,organizational citizenship behavior and creativity.Further,psychological safety and psychological ownership are found to mediate the relationship between ethical leadership and task performance,organizational citizenship behavior and creativity.The results also indicate that leader member exchange moderate the relationship between ethical leadership,psychological safety and psychological ownership.The findings of this study can help managers to understand the importance of psychological safety and psychological ownership among the hotel workers.This paper draws attention to the need for hotel administration to establish an appropriate mechanism for leader member exchange to effectively manage the information system of the organization.This study also highlights the significance of one of the effective leadership styles(ethical leadership)in positively affecting the job performance outcomes in a service oriented industry.overall,this study contribute to the existing literature on ethical leadership and job performance outcomes by showing that psychological safety,psychological ownership and leader member exchange are important and most relevant variables that effect the degree of influence that ethical leadership has on job performance outcomes.
