A Study Of Technological Innovation Network Routines Formation Mechanism

In the context economic globalization and R&D network,as well as the limitation of knowledge and resources,and the inherent openness characteristic of the enterprise,any enterprise can not accomplish technology innovation without cooperation,the technological innovation network is an important organizational form of innovation collaborations in the fast-changing market environment.Through the technology innovation networks,the world famous companies have a lot to implement technology innovation.Through this kind of cooperation innovation,these companies achieved remarkable results of technological innovation in the aspects as strategy,technology,economic returns and risk control etc.It makes the form of technology innovation networks become the hot focus both in China and abroad.But the instability and high failure rates are the biggest obstacle to constrain the technological innovation network achieve greater success.And aiming at exploring the promotion the efficient of technological innovation network operation,has important significance in scientific and technological progress and economic development.As the basis element of the network behavior,network routines are considered to be the core elements to maintain and coordinate the technological innovation network.Scholars have paid attention to the important role of network routines,and point out that it can create and maintain the inter-organization relationship,and improve governance pattern etc.Along with the formation of the network organization,the network routines can be considered to the behavior pattern and norm consensus in network member cooperation.But there are few studies on this subject,especially in the network routines connotation characteristics and formation,lack of theoretical system framework,far lagging from the needs of practice development.Thus,to make full use of the technological innovation network to enhance the innovation capability and innovation performance,and attain the sustainable competitive advantage,it must be strengthened the research of network routines.Basis on the systematic comb pertinent literature,this paper define and identify the connotation characteristics of the technological innovation network routines,explore the dimension and develop the measure scale of technological innovation network routines;follow the method of Grounded Theory,explore and verify the influencing factors of technological innovation network routines formation by three times deeply interview;on the basis of literature review,case study and theoretical analysis,construct the theoretical model of network routines formation mechanism,propose the research hypotheses,and do empirical text with the actual data of the process of the innovation cooperation in our country.This article's innovation achievements mainly reflect in:First of all,we extend the routines theory from the organization level to the network level,and give the norm describes of technological innovation network routines.The extant research have paid attention to the important role of network routines in the cooperation innovation and the network operation,but the research achievement are scarce and dispersion,and has not formed a system theory framework.Base on the resource dependence and loose coupling essence,this paper defines the conception of technological innovation network routines,analysis and identification of attributive character of technological innovation network routines,explore and discriminate the dimension of technological innovation network routines,develop and validate the measure scale of technological innovation network routines.It contribute to interpretation technological innovation network routines theory more clear and system,and important to develop the research of routines.It's a new angle of view of the technological innovation study,and also has established the theoretical basis of this paper.Secondly,from organization level,inter-organization level and network level,this paper deeply identify and verify the influencing factors of the technological innovation network routines formation.Based on different purposes and perspectives,the extant research has illustrated the formation of network routines,but the correlational studies has scattered in a large number of literature.Pertinent research results is relatively rare,and failure to recognize the inherent law of the network routines formation,it is difficult to guide the technological innovation network efficiently operation from theoretical.Combines with the qualitative and quantitative method,this paper comes down the network routines formation influencing factors to core enterprise,external environment and network characteristics,and further reduce to 5 factors: core enterprise,network diversity,tie strength,structural holes and power distance.Systematic comb the influencing factor of technological innovation network routines formation from different level,it help to combine the practical experience of completeness with theoretical research preciseness.Meanwhile,this paper applies empirical analysis research the mechanism of the technological innovation network routines formation,it's help to break the constraint of the extant routines qualitative research.On the basis of literature review,case study and theoretical analysis,establish the theoretical model of network routines formation,and propose the theoretical hypothesis,use the actual data of the process of the innovation cooperation in our country,and do an empirical test with the help of SPSS17.0 and AMOS7.0.The whole research shows that the relationship of core enterprise leadership and network routines is invert-U;network diversity would impede the formation of network routines;the structural holes and power distance can promote the network routines formation.This results can help to clear up the relationship between the influencing factors and network routines,and fill up the blank of the correlational research,it's contribute to enrich and supplement the behavior theory of enterprise cooperation innovation.Finally,this paper has revealed the regulation effects of power distance and the different acting path in the process of network routines formation,deeply analyze the indirect effect of network routines formation.Power distance has the important regulation effects in the network formation,with the increase of power distance,it would stimulate the positive effect between core enterprise leadership,tie strength and network routines,and restrict the negative role of the network diversity during the network routines formation,but the power distance would restrain the driving effect of structural holes.We discover and verify the three acting path,core enterprise leadership and network diversity not only could promote the formation of network routines,but also via strengthening the network tie strength indirect influence the network routines,but the structural holes only has partial mediating effect between network diversity and network routines.The research results can totally reveal the formation mechanism of network routines,it contributes to deeply understand and grasp the inherent rule of from the perspective of routines.In general,this paper makes up the insufficient of the extant research,enrich and expand the theoretical research of the routines and technological innovation network.In practice,it also contribute to guide the enterprise cooperation innovation behavior in network,enhance the understanding of technological innovation network operation rule,and has significant implications for advancing the performance of technological innovation cooperation in China.
