Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study was to quantitatively explore the role of conflict in organizations between disciplined and diversified work teams. For this dissertation, 211 participants agreed to participate in the research study. Of the 211 participants, 188 completed the entire survey. Results of the study found that there was no difference in conflict between disciplined and diversified work teams based on the demographics of age and education level. Additional measurements found that the education level of associate or bachelor degree was the driving force of the results in the exploration of conflict in organizations. Significantly, measurements identified perceptions on the nature of the conflicts, reasons of the conflicts, and strategies for conflict resolution among human resources work teams. Finally, the results of this study will add to the body of knowledge on conflict, which will help assist organizations in managing conflict within their organization. The findings provide insight on different perceptions of conflict from demographical perspectives of age and education.
