| Under the background of new urbanization and rural revitalization,the building of tourism characteristic town has opened up a new ground for tourism industry,which arouses a follow-up of tourism featured town in the academic circle toward diversified research.The industry-city integration refers to the integrated development of industry and town,which emphasizes a new urban development of the integration of “industry”“town”“people” and“culture”.In the new era,the development of industry-city integration of the town is of great significance to improve tourism structure,optimize the spatial layout and form of Chinese cities and towns,and promote the upgrading of traditional industries and the inheritance of local culture.Therefore,it has become an emergency to solve the practical problems and explore the theory of industry-city integration of tourism characteristic town.However,up to now,there is still a lack of revelant researches to consult.Therefore,this paper puts forward the research questions as follows: What are the influencing factors of industry-city integration?Which mechanism will lead the sound development of the industry-city integration ? What deep influence will the industry-city integration bring to the surrounding villages ? And what kind of practical inspiration and theoretical thinking on the industry-city integration will be brought ? Thus,this paper--taking Shenhou Town(Henan Province)as an example,is rooted in the practice of Chinese rural society and adopted the methods including vertical case analysis,grounded theory approach and quantitative analysis as well as cited the theoretical systems of evolutionary economic geography,polarization-trickle-down effect.Adopting above theories,an empirical analysis and theoretical abstraction of the research issues along the logical framework of "quality improvement–integration of industry–city-influencing factors–development mechanism–spatial effect" are made.The main conclusions of this paper are listed below:(1)Identifying the key factors of industry-city integration of tourism characteristic town.The fundamental influencing factors of the industry-city integration of the town are composed of six main categories,19 sub-categories and 69 subordinate concepts,including industrial development capacity,tourism attraction,urban construction,local spirit,government action and external situation.Some influencing factors correspond with previous studies.However,based on the analysis of a large number of research data,this paper also refines new categories,such as “landscape-town integration”,“cultural accretion” and “peer care”,which correspond to urban construction,tourism attraction and local spirit respectively.Industrial development ability,tourist attraction,town construction and local spirit play a significant role on the industry-city integration for its characteristics.As a result,the government as well as the external situation in the industry-city integration promote the benign operation of the integration industry and city in small towns with tourism characteristics.(2)Building the theoretical analysis framework of the town industry and its related evolution.From the perspective of vertical historical evolution,this paper further constructs the theoretical model of interactive and collaborative evolution of leading mechanism and auxiliary mechanism.Besides,this paper analyzes the internal evolution mechanism of the small towns with tourism characteristics from the traditional rural towns with natural discursion to the small towns with semi-industrial and semi-agricultural functions,to the planned industrial towns,and finally to the small towns with tourism characteristics.The co-evolution mechanism of the integrated development of industry and city in small towns with tourism characteristics includes industry leading mechanism and town supporting mechanism.The paper further constructs the theoretical model of the co-evolution of industry leading mechanism and town supporting mechanism.The leading mechanism is the evolution of traditional industries and upgrading of tourism.Based on the advantages of local resource endowment and continuous technological innovation,traditional industries have the characteristics of highly path-dependent evolution,laying the foundation for industrial development,and gradually forming a benign interaction between traditional industry and tourism industry under the promotion of government action and tourism market.The auxiliary mechanism is the urban collaborative evolution and tourism function reconstruction.In the process of industrial evolution,the function of cities and towns co-evolves and adjusts with the development of industries,which has experienced the evolutionary path of circuitous,continuous adjustment and transition,and gradually formed the rule of co-evolution.The paper also constructs a theoretical model of the interactive and co-evolution of the leading mechanism and the auxiliary mechanism of the integration development of small towns with tourism characteristics(3)Establishing the theoretical relevance and logical analysis framework of the spatial effect of the integration of small towns with tourism characteristics.Based on the theory of polarization-trickle-down effect and literature study and field investigation,from the perspective of “town-village linkage”and the three aspects of industrial radiation effect,cultural linkage effect and urban extension effect,the paper constructs the measurement index system of the spatial effect of the integration of small towns with tourism characteristics.In the paper,the health distance model was used to measure the 14 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of the case.The results show that the integrated development of small towns with tourism characteristics has positive space spillover effects on the economic growth,cultural revival and the cultivation of local society in the surrounding rural areas.which is consistent with the process of urban-rural integration and rural revitalization in the new era.In addition,the results also show that the spatial effect is influenced by rural geographical distance,resource endowment and historical basis.Compared with the present researches,there are something new here:(1)This paper has deepen and expanded the theoretical system of industry-city integration.The existing studies mostly focus on the industry-city integration in new urban areas,development zones and industrial parks in large cities.Taking tourism characteristic town as the spatial unit,this paper closely links the industry-city integration with the traditional industry upgrading,tourism development,urban function reconstruction and town village linkage of tourism characteristic town,identifies the key factors of industry-city integration of tourism characteristic town,constructs a theoretical model for the co-evolution of industry and towns,and discusses why and how to realize the industry-city integration in tourism characteristic town.This point provides a powerful theoretical explanation for the development of industry-city integration of tourism characteristic town.(2)Further the cognition on the theory and practice of integrating industry and strength of city.Different from the traditional view that industry-city integration is the result of“industry” and “town” construction,this paper proposes that the final formation of industry-city integration of tourism-featured town is a process of long-term evolution and accumulation,which depends not only on the self-development capacity of industry and town,but also on such key factors as “local spirit”,“joint efforts of community”,“governmental supervision” and “functioning environment”.This paper is expected to improve the theory of industry-city integration of tourism-featured town and guide the practice.(3)This paper constructs the theoretical framework of the spatial effect of the integration of small towns with tourism characteristics,deepens and develops the development concept of“town-village linkage”.And at the same time,it constructs the evaluation index system of the spatial effect of the integration of small towns with tourism characteristics,with the effect of industrial radiation,cultural linkage and town extension measured.By taking care of the issues of urban-rural integration and rural revitalization,this paper has deepen the exploration and cognition of the external theory of the integration of small towns with tourism characteristics,achieving an effective link between the academic research and practical needs of tourism. |
