With the increasing environmental problems and the requirement of social sustainable development, Environmental Education (EE) gradually becomes a hot issue in recent years. The investigations of EE theory and application also become a key research importance to environmental educators, especially the investigations of EE models,is becoming the key factor of EE'success. As the capital city of Jiangxi Province, Nanchang relatively has advantageous ecological resource, but rapid development is destroying the ecological environment. Therefore, How to protect the environment while pursing social development becomes a worthy issue.Until late 1990s, community was considered a main place to launch EE. As the basic micro unit of the society, community plays great role to improve citizens'awareness of environmental protection. This paper summarizes the research achievement of many experts and gives a definition of community EE, analyzing the necessity of Community Environmental Education (CEE) and develops a systematic research on two basic aspects of the theorization and implementation of CEE.From the theoretical aspects, based on the understanding of relative theories on Environmental Education and Community Education, this paper redefines the connotation of CEE. Based on the nature of community, the idea of humanism as well as the requirement of EE and community education development, it verities the necessity and importance of community environmental education, which provides theory guidance for the implementing of CEE. From the practical aspect, this paper has explored three typical communities of Nanchang by using questionnaires (consisting of environmental knowledge, environmental awareness, environmental behaviors, etc), and gives a preliminary analysis on the current situation of Nanchang CEE and existing problems. This paper also points out the disadvantages of CEE of Nanchang and develops three kinds of models, and adds some details to its practice. These can provide some constructive suggestions for Nanchang development.Four parts are included in all. The first part is the introduction, which mainly talks about research background, foundation, significance and concept. The second part analyzes the current situation of community environmental education development in Nanchang and points out some problems. The third part is the main body of this paper and puts forward three models of implementing community environmental education in Nanchang. The last part is the conclusion, which contains conclusion and discussion.
