The advantages of honeycomb cardboard are light, large bearing and so on. And the advantages of corrugated cardboard are low thickness, high industrial level and so on. However, the honeycomb cardboard and corrugated cardboard both have their own shortcomings. Then to explore a new type of material that can make full use of the properties of the two materials is needed. Meanwhile, the advantages of honeycomb cardboard and corrugated cardboard are both existing in honeycomb/corrugated composite cardboard. According to this situation, the significance of this paper is to study the basic mechanical properties of the material. At the same time, the study can provide basic mechanical properties date in the cushioning design of honeycomb/corrugated composite cardboard.The structure of honeycomb/corrugated composite cardboard has been created in the early experiment stage. At the same time, mechanical theory of the honeycomb/corrugated composite cardboard has been discussed deeply in this paper. And the honeycomb/corrugated composite cardboard are studied by using finite element analysis software ANSYS for platform. Then a compress transient dynamic type analysis for honeycomb/corrugated composite cardboard is done in ANSYS by computer simulation. That is to say. The static compress of honeycomb/corrugated composite cardboard is analyzed deeply by computer simulation in this paper. Dynamic cushioning and static compressive test experiment are done. By experiment , acceleration time curves and force-displacement curves have been got. Then acceleration-static, stress-strain and cushioning coefficient-strain curves have been got by mechanical theoretical calculations. At last, cushioning property date that has been got from experiment is applied into cushioning packaging design of practice study.A comparative study of the change process of honeycomb/corrugated composite cardboard by computer simulation and practical compress process of honeycomb/corrugated composite cardboard has been done. By experiment, it shows that the change process of honeycomb/corrugated composite cardboard by computer simulation is the same to practical compress process of honeycomb/corrugated composite cardboard basically. And in this paper, two kinds of different high point date exist in the mechanical properties curves in the experiment. From these curves, we can see that the change is from low point to high point, then down to low point in acceleration-static curve and stress-strain curve. Accordingly, the change is from high point down to low point, then up to high point and then it drop in cushioning coefficient-strain curve. And we can also see the superior mechanical properties of honeycomb/corrugated composite cardboard in the cushioning package design by experiment.
