Study On Supply Chain Oriented WIP Tracking And Management System

As an advanced manufacturing mode, supply chain has become an approach tocontrol material flow and information flow in manufacturing system effectively. Asan important kind of manufacturing material, work in process (WIP) needs auniversal and effective mode of tracking and management in the environment ofproduction supply chain. The research on the supply chain oriented WIP tracking andmanagement system is fundamentally important for enterprises business processreengineering rapidly and strengthening the cooperatives, integration of the WIPtracking process. In this paper, the structure model of production process supply chain isanalyzed firstly, as well as a supply chain oriented WIP tracking and managementmode is put forward. Secondly, the WIP manufacturing and flowing process isanalyzed and the defining method of supply chain oriented WIP transferring route isput forward and realized as a software tool. And then study on dynamic tracking,transferring, information releasing, quantity controlling, statistic of WIP andacquisition of production information related to WIP based on barcode is done indetail. Thirdly, UML modeling method is used to analyze and devise the supplychain oriented WIP tracking and management system, and the functional model andthe B/S web structure of the system are setup. Finally, a precise cast orientedprototype system has been developed successfully and put into practical use in theprecise cast process through an instance.
