Virtual simulation research on vehicle handing and stability present is usually numerical value simulation. The conclusive denotation is often modality of numerical data or curve, as a result consequently it can not express the connotation clearly due to the complexity and non-linearity of the closed-loop vehicle system. In this framework, a research on virtual simulation technology grounded on Virtual Reality for vehicle handing and stability analysis is explored.Based upon the technology of virtual simulation and vehicle landscape dynamics, this paper develop special emphasis on following items: the system layout designing, scene and 3D vehicle modeling, visual rendering, interacting between user and visual scene, the numerical solution of vehicle dynamics mathematical models. Detail works are listed as those:1. Particular analysis on the state and method of research on vehicle handing and stability performance simulation is made, accordingly based on which the paper present a new research means in virtue of virtual reality technology.2. A prospective study on MultiGen Creator, a highly-specialized tool that helps modelers produce efficient 3D models, is taken. Special detail research works on LOD, Texture Mapping, DOF, Instance, Billboard, External reference are approached. And thus, three 3D models with DOFs(Pitch Yaw X-motion and Y-motion) is available.3. Exploring the framework of Vega, a high performance visual simulation system and launching the research on several key issues such as: class arrangement of MFC Vega application, administration of MFC Vega process and thread, Vega callback classes, message translating, user-define motion model, driving of DOF, collision detection etc.4. As a summing-up, the virtual simulation system is established based on real-time 3D modeling tool- MultiGen Creator and virtual simulation rendering tool -Vega. It simulates the performance of vehicle handling and stability with virtual scene.
