With the development of the automation technologies, electricity companies pay more attention on monitoring of transmission grid and distribution grid. The interaction and sharing information among the different kinds of automation systems and information systems is becoming more and more important. How to applying CIM(Common Information Model) model and CIS(Component Interface Specification) of IEC 61970 standard to SCADA system is a new and important research direction.This paper analyses the current situation of the SCADA system and the features of the distribution grid, and discusses the application of IEC 61970 standard to our asynchronous SCADA system.Nowadays, there are many kinds of automation systems. Each one has its own definitions and description to the power system resources. It is hard to exchange data and interact with other systems.
