A Theoretical Research And Application Of Post-Occupancy Evaluation About Built Environment In Emporium

Economic system innovation promotes the commercial development and the commercial architecture larger scale built. The emporium is so expensive and impressed to the city visualization, scene, layout, function, culture and public living. The emporium is the important part of the modern city buildings, the epitome of the modern commercial culture in city life and the public architecture closest with the people. But the commercialization and the economization are considered more than the practicability and client requirement in the construction of commercial architecture. It is effective way to develop the post-occupancy evaluation (POE) that inspects status of the building design, construction quality and built environment for the city healthy development and the people's benefit. Regarding this the article mainly researches the theory and method of POE in the application of emporium.Firstly the article introduces the necessary, possibility and influence factor of POE in our emporium by describing the POE concept, origin, development and the actuality in the world. Secondly it discusses the guideline system of emporium and describes the POE method and process. Finally it expatiates on the POE application by the two local typical emporiums in Taiyuan on the basis of relative POE research theories.The article gets the evaluating result on the emphasis of the POE application in emporium and by choosing the typical examples and with the qualitative and the quantitative analyzing the information and data that collected by the field survey, questionnaire, call on persons and behavior observed.The research on evaluation guideline is an important part for the commercial architecture POE. It need a particular comprehensive humanity guideline to judge the environment meet the users' demands or not for emporium has large scale, many function, complex crowd and higher demand of environment. The evaluation guideline is the important specification to check the result exactness or not for different guideline will bring different result even from different or portion aspects. By analyzing the emporium environment standard from function requirement, substance environment, climate environment, social environment and culture environment, the article develops the evaluation index of the emporium built environment POE and emphasizes particularly on the subjective based on human demand probably arising in the emporium and academic knowledge like environment behavior science, architectural anthropology and need theory and so on. The article makes the foundation research and preliminary application on the built environment POE in commercial architecture. Hope it will be as the reference and the practice bases for the later relative research and application. Hope it will be helpful for the research on emporium built environment POE and the emporium turnover.
