Comprehensive transportation terminal is the key component of the urban transportation system. It is the convergence point of multi traffic modes and the place for passengers dissipating and transferring. It places an important role on connecting different modes and guaranteeing the travel conveniently, which is important to the effective operation of the transportation system. The coordinated scheduling of different traffic modes in the comprehensive transportation terminal is the scientific operation on the capacity of traffic modes, which can improve the matching of different modes and releasing the pressure of passenger transfer. At present, the researches on comprehensive transportation terminal can be categorized into two groups. One group is the research on facilities construction, such as the design and layout optimization of the terminal. The fruits in this group are feasible for application and have been started for many years. The other group carries out the researches from the view of management and assessment. Such as the organization of the traffic flow, the evaluation of the service level, the coordinated schedule of different modes. These researches are new to us and have been started only for several years, especially those on coordinated schedule. Domestic studies only provide some qualitative criterions, and the results are obtained in the view of matching of transportation capacity. But research on the schedule methods of different traffic modes and the real-time control methods of vehicles have not been carried out. The fruits of foreign researches provide effective ideas for solving these problems, but the differences in transportation environments leads to poor applicability. Therefore, it is imperative to study the coordinated schedule of the different traffic modes in comprehensive transportation terminal. This dissertation firstly analysis the traffic characteristic of different traffic modes, and summaries the present research fruits on coordinated schedule. Then develops the coordinated schedule models faced to the comprehensive transportation terminal. At last, taking the Xizhimen transportation terminal as example, and optimizing the vehicle headways on the purpose of the passengers'costs are minimal. This research can provide the decision-making foundation for transportation scheduling. This dissertation is organized as follows:(1) The basic theories on coordinated schedule were introduced. At the beginning, the traffic characteristics the feasibility of coordinated schedule are analyzed. Also, the definition of coordinated schedule, the scope and objective are concluded. (2) The development of the coordinated schedule models. In this dissertation, the traffic modes are bus, light railway and the subway. We develop the models in the purpose of all passengers'costs in the terminal are minimal. The passenger cost is consisted of passenger waiting cost and transfer cost. In order to solve the model efficiently, the genetic algorithm is used on the basis of 1stOpt software.(3) The validation of the developed model. Taking the Xizhimen terminal as example, data are collected in that terminal. Comparing the present cost and the optimized cost, we can deem that if the costs get from the optimization model decrease, the model would be effective. The models not only consider the passenger's cost, but also the benefits of the transportation company. The following results are obtained from this research:1. In order to obtain the possibility of the vehicles of subway, light transit and bus, we compare the actual arrival time and scheduling arrival time, and obtain the accurate arrival time possibility relative to the scheduling time. Then fitting the investigated data using conic equations for vehicles arrival possibility, and joint probability of the researched vehicles were calculated, too.2. When classifying the study of passenger transfer, the anterior considering the actual arrival time of the two transferring vehicles, which leads to six categories of the transferring. In this article, we divide the transferring into two categories by considering the relative arrival times of the two vehicles, which simplify the research problem.3. The traffic modes that are considered in this study are subway, bus and light railway. The optimized objective of the models is the minimal of the passengers'cost, which is consisted of the passengers'waiting cost and the transfer cost. Optimization models are developed and the decision variables are the headway of the traffic modes. According to the results of the overseas research, the dwell slack time were considered because of the large headway of transit, but in our country, the headway of transit is small and at the same time, the volume is larger, too. Therefore, it is improper to make the slack time as decision variable. In order to solve the models, genetic algorithm is introduced.4. Take Xizhimen terminal as example for the validation of the presented models. Considering the actual vehicles configuration of the transit operators and comparing present passengers'cost and that calculated by our models, the results show that the models are effective and can reduce the cost of the travel. The results validate that the models presented can solve the coordinated schedule problems efficiently. The research of this dissertation can be applied to the traffic modes schedule in comprehensive transportation terminal. The models are effective on the optimization of vehicle configure and real time dispatch, which can release the transfer pressure and the waste or short of transportation capacity.
