| In this paper, through summarizing many researches and analysis on power distribution automation, it figures out the feasibility of improving distribution line automation and a power distribution automation which is suitable for China's national conditions according to its tendency and mission. Furthermore, the power distribution automation is defined as an entire network and the key point for this passage is 10kV rank-- feeder automation.There are three fault disposing models in the feeder automation system: recloser and sectionalizer System,Current Type Feeder Automation System and Voltage Type Feeder Automation System. The advantages have been on conclusion through comparison with the three models.The problems in recloser and sectionalizer, Current Type Feeder Automation System will no longer exist in Voltage Type Feeder Automation System. The paper focuses on the principle of Voltage Type Feeder Automation System and a particular introduction to constitution equipment as well as practical project applications and problems solving occurred in the projects.Voltage Type Feeder Automation System equipped with"Pole-mounted Accept Switch"has formed into an all-round, integrated and reasonable protection system of 10kV matches the net feeder automation.
