The Research Of Principle And Realization Of Meter Reading System Based On The Multi Hop Wireless Network

Remote Automation Meter Reading System(AMR) is a real time system which can monitor the consume situation of power customers . On the basis of the general analyzing on existing AMRS , as well as the practically applied requirements , this text designed a set of meter reading system according to the multi-hop wireless network.The paper introduces a communication method which based on the radio frequency chip of nRF905. It proposes to set up wireless ad-hoc networks. The wireless ad-hoc networks has lots of characteristics such as having no center self-organizing and multi-skip route. Data transmit between the concentrator and the collector in the form of wireless ad-hoc networks. Concentrator acts as the center of ad-hoc network and communicates with the base through GPRS networks. Collector and wireless energy meter act as the router or the normal point of the networks. With the help of ad-hoc networks , concentrator can communicate with the other nodes which is out of single-hop distance .The communication model of multi hop metering networks increases a layer called network layer , compared to the normal metering networks. The model is divided to four layers : application layer, network layer , mac layer , physic layer . Cluster tree and improved AODV router protocol are used in the network layer. And tree and mesh network can be realized . According to the country statute of electricity meter, combined with RF transceiver chip nRF905 hardware features , the other three communication protocol is drew up .Finally , under the existing laboratory conditions , we do some laboratories to test the four lays meter reading communication model and its protocol, we realized point-to-point data communication , star topology network and tree topology network . The results prove model effectively .Remote meter reading system based on ad hoc networks can not only leave out the trouble in wiring but also realize wireless communication on large scale by forming ad-hoc networks . The system has on-line forever, inexpensive cost of equipments, simple maintenance cheap charges, quickly connection, high reliability and practicality etc. advantage. Therefore, it is full of important social and economic values that carry out this meter reading system .
