With a long-term development of the city,the historical and cultural district is a valuable asset of the city has completed in a unique style of architecture and the humanities,containing a wealth of historical and cultural information and representing of the meaning of texture.Because of the process acceleration of urban modernization,the historical and cultural district which is widely existing in the city urgently need to be protected and updated.Under the complex socio-economic background today,there is much controversy to which is lead by the participants' different perception of the object about Historic District to update and regeneration and would result in practical difficulties to promote.The situation of the historic District to protect need to be concerned:revival old-style transformation,destruction of commercial exploitation of heritage buildings,fake antiques and passive protective measures in isolation.This is mainly the neglect of culture and takes too much attention on economy.The conversion of the historic buildings is resulted by the real estate prices,as well as residents trying to preserve a general lack of awareness of social,economic and other factors.Therefore,the focus of this article can be summarized as follows:how to better protect the city historic blocks of space,particularly the history of the city's traditional street style,so that the history of memory space to be retained;how to better activation of the history of space, update the history of the environment;how to better carry out effective space for the history of the re-use,so that blocks of renewable industrial economy.In this article,through study the strategy of the protection and revival of Dalian Chunman Historic District and the comprehensive use of relevant disciplines in architecture and urban planning it is summed up protect method of the building in the district and the preserve strategy of the historical information in order to search for the historical information; under the condition of the district given the reasonable protection,the article mainly discuss the space block activation and environmental renewal strategy;Time and space will have special significance in the continuation of the historical buildings of living cultural heritage of historical and modern function both ways re-defined in order to determine their impact on urban development and the needs of local residents on the daily life of the roles and functions; list and analysis of representative widespread use of the space re-use and industrial regeneration strategy,commercial development and tourism and cultural development,through the introduction of appropriate economic activities or activities of culture and tourism historic district and the city's sustainable development.The theory of summing up the experience and strategies introduces the practice used in selected cases,at the same time the practice as the theory of summing up the test.After such a cycle of the process,we try to explore basic theory of the historical and cultural district in the protection and revival and adaptive strategies for sustainable development.
