China's current and future clearly speed up the pace of urbanization has become the focus of national attention at the Eleventh Five-Year Planning. As a class of a town in China, the ancient town will also be entered for rapid urbanization and development stage,and it has become a new hot spot for planning studies. And the economic development has not been greatly improved. So it may be very important at this background to make the ancient town's better protection and close links between protection and development.Daiwangcheng town is located in the central Yu County, has a long history, and high research value of the history. In accelerating the pace of urbanization today, the town which has a millennium of history also been in a lot of impact. Through the protection and development research, this thesis hopes to give the same type of research experience, and promote the protection of town planning and the overall planning of common development.The thesis is divided into six main parts:Chapter I, It introduced the research background, purposes and methods with the idea of the framework.Chapter II: It summed up the ancient town of the theory and principles of protection at home and abroad, explained the relationship between the Town Protection and Development, and got useful inspiration for the study.Chapter III: It describes the basic situation of Daiwangcheng Town, and in accordance with its level of economic development based on their economic position, to work for the next step to lay a good foundation.Chapter IV: It mentioned the use of the theory of the previous section, as well as the positioning of Daiwangcheng Town's economic base, the protection of its methods and industrial development.Chapter V: Through examples of analysis, we propose solutions to town contradictions between development and protection methodsChapter VI: Summary and conclusions including the prospect of future work.
