The Chinese Confucius Temple firstly appeared in 478 B.C.(the second year sinceConfucius died), and is a memorial building that sacrificed to Confucius, which thegreat philosopher and the founder of Confucianism in Chinese ancient times at thebeginning. In its endless development history of more than 2,000 years,accompanying with the position of Confucianism being promoted continuously, thequantity of the Chinese Confucius Temple inceases continuously, and its grade ispromote continuously also. Western Sichuan possesses a long history and brilliant bashu culture.A large amount of Confucian temple have been preserved for study,decorating of Confucian temple is valuable for the study of history,culture and architecture. A large amount of them are in the crises of disappearing with increasing economic construction andurbanization. There fore, the study of the decorating of Confucian temple in Western Sichuan, as a significant part of the system of Religious architecture, is not only with high academic value but also can promote the preservation and constant development Confucian temple.The decorating of Confucian temple in Western Sichuan takes on interesting culture meaning and rich and colorful forms. The text bases on the collecting of sociological and architecture data of the Confucian temple in the field, analyses the nature entironmentand civil entironment. Then, according to the different component, the different decorating skill, the different subject matter, the different methods of expression, the text has done the research work on the decorating of Confucian temple in Western Sichuan. Lastly, concluded the culture connotation and collectivity character of it. The study of the decorating of Confucian temple can open out the local culture when the detail of Confucian temple being destroyed and ignored. The main purpose of the text is protecting and researching the culture of decorating of Confucian temple in Western Sichuan.
