| Currently,small high-rise housing developing more and more rapidly in China, which, short-pier shear wall structure is more popular among property developers and users, the whole structure has a good anti-seismic ability and no extrusive part.As the short shear wall structure is a new kind of structure system, many issues need to study and improve. Therefore, our "high-rise building of concrete structures technical spe- cification " requirements on short-pier shear wall structure are more strictly than the average wall, these provisions allow the use of small high-rise residential short - pier shear wall structure should reflect the economic performance . Therefore it is necessary to do more research on the short-pier shear wall structure , then can provide the basis for the design of engneering.How to correctly determine whether a structured system is short-pier shear walls structural system, directly affect the design of the project on the entire project , cost and duration have a direct impact too. Therefore, the problem how to identify the short-pier shear wall structural system more scientific, accurate, and reasonably is the common interest and need of solution.This paper introduces the definition of short-pier shear wall and the mechanical properties and design requirements, etc. And in accordance with the literature data to WANG Yayong, Dai Guoying the overturning moment 40% to 50% standard, using projects modeling calculations, analysis of data to compare the Beijing , Guangdong where the two methods determine the short-pier shear wall structure is reasonable and accurate.In this paper, we chose three engineering example, using the SATWE software with wall element model to analysis , design specifications and design parameters were analyzed and compared, then choseing an accurate determine way.On the other hand, this paper put forward the advice of different design methods can be used in different proposals on the engineering design as guidance and reference for engineers.
