| Objective: To investigate the effects and mechanism of Yishen-tongluo decoction in treating Chronic nephritis hypertension.Methods: Sixty eight patients with chronic nephritis hypertension were divided randomly into the treated group and the control group which were respectively treated with Benazepril tablet and Yishentongluo decoction, and with Benazepril tablet. In such a clinical study, the changes of blood pressure, serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, endogenous creatinine clearance rate, plasma endothelin, serum nitrogen monoxide and improvement of clinical symptom and physical signs were observed respectively.Results: After treated by Yishentongluo decoction, the blood pressure of the patient with chronic nephritis hypertension declined effectually. In the treated group the total effective percent is 88.24%. BUN , Scr (after treatment compared with the control group ,P<0.01) and U-pro. of the patients declined, while Ccr rose significantly. Plasma ET(after treatment compared with the control group ,P<0.05) was reduced and serum NO was increased remarkably. The clinical symptoms and physical signs were obviously improved (P<0.05).Conclusions: Yishentongluo decoction can improve the function of the vessel endodermis and the blood pressure was reduced and the U-pro was reduced so the renal function was preserved and improved .
