On July 29th 2010, Ministry of Education issued 'Regform and Development Plan Outline of National Long-term Education (2010-2020)', which has made more comprehensive new requirement to the high education. Music education in normal university has the responsibility to supply music teachers with modern teaching idea; basic knowledge, theory and skill of music subject; practical ability and innovation spirit; and basic teaching & research ability to the society. Along with world multi-polarization and economic globalization in the 21 century, we need to review and uderstand the context of its develoment about the pipa education in different history, so that pipa education could be integrated into the theme of music education among diverse.Music education in normal university is at the initial development stage, subject construction always follows the pattern of music conservatory, its own develoment direction is sill being explored. In the new situation, music education in university, especially for the local education must make social demand as guide, follow education law and people- oriented, flexibly adjust structure layout of subject, and improve the education & teaching level.The Pipa is one of China's ancient folk instruments, both the graceful mountain stream, but also the spirit House of Flying Daggers, with a very important position in folk instruments education in formal university. Under the pluralistic music education background, folk musical instruments such as pipa is in the face of severe challenge, but also ushered in a new development opportunity. Pipa teaching local teachers must clear the education concept of'Based on the teahcing knowledge; Protruding Speciality and Facing Society'. Try to train practical comprehensive talents of'good station platform, the stage adaption, and social service'. Which can not directly copy the teaching model of music college, on the aspect of teching content and method, must emphasize teaching norm and students'comprehensive ability training, establish local characteristic teching model of Pipa education in normal university.Based on the author's learning and teaching experience, this paper practically analyzed today's society's demand situation to the music talent. Considering the student's instollment level and employment intentions, and from the point of development, this paper just makes initial exploration to the local pipa teaching in normal university, proposes basic innovation idea for the local pipa teahing in normal university, with hope of contributing to the educational reform of folk musical instruments.
