Subjective well-being is an important indicator to reflect the quality of individual life in some society. The level of subjective well-being is a key sign to reflect a person's psychological state. Social support is an intimate contact which exists among people and can be recognized by them. Locus of control is the general expectations an individual has towards objects or results. That high school students undergo huge academic pressure in China is one of the causes that lead to their commonly low level of psychological health. A close study to the subjective well-being and its related factors can help improve high school students'psychological health. This thesis focuses on the research of social support for high school students, locus of control and subjective well-being by using a questionnaire with the methods of correlation and regression analysis. The conclusions are as follows:1)The t-test on demographic variables of gender and their academic disciplines in this study shows that high school students'life satisfaction, other supports, perception of social support and the degree of using the supports are connected with the differences in gender and academic discipline. In above categories the female do better than the male; liberal arts students do better than science students.2)The correlated analysis study of perceiving social supports, locus of control and subjective well-being demonstrates that there is evident connection between the perception of various social support (family support, friend support, and other supports) and the various dimensions of subjective well-being (positive emotions, negative emotions, and life satisfaction). The external control of the locus of control significantly relates to general social support and the various dimensions of subjective well-being.3)The correlated analysis study of general social support, locus of control and subjective well-being shows that all dimensions of general social support (objective support, subjective support, and the degree of using the supports) have significant connections with the various dimensions of subjective well-beings (positive emotions, negative emotions, and life satisfaction). Tne external control of the locus of control is strongly related to the various dimensions of subjective well-being and general social support.4)The results of the correlation analysis and regression analysis study on all kinds of social support, various dimensions of subjective well-being and the external control of the locus of control indicate that various social supports can strongly forecast one's subjective well-being.5)The test of mediator effect shows that external control plays part of the mediator's role in various social supports'function to forecast one's subjective well-being.
