With the trend of economy globalization and the fast development of information technology, the world market is abounding with varieties; market competition is getting severer and severer. Tourism is no exception. With china's economic and social development, intensifying globalization and the people's improved living standards traveling is becoming more and more people's dream. As the most populous country in the world and being well known for its mystery and beauty, China has become the dreamy place for many foreigners. Meanwhile, the foreign visitors are crazy about china's culture and places great interest in the history and culture of China. However, the cultural differences between east and west lead to the difficulty in understanding. Therefore, nothing can be compared with the importance of how to translate the scenic spots and tourism texts precisely and elegantly. Translation refers to an activity in which the information of a source language is expressed precisely by the target language so that the receptor of the target language can have the same response of the receptor of the source language. For example, there are translations from English to Chinese or from Chinese to English. Here in this thesis paper, we mainly talk about the translation from Chinese to English, that is, C-E translation.Jiujiang is famous for Lushan Mountain. Lushan Mountain as a worldly known mountain, plays a very important part in the development of jiujiang even Jiangxi province. Because of its world fame and beauty, it attracts more and more tourists from abroad. However, a considerable number of the Chinese-English (C-E) translations of the texts, scenic spots instruction brochure and so on about the tourist information in local tourism are far from being satisfactory, a fact which negatively affects the communicative purpose with foreign visitors. The author adopts a descriptive approach and takes some pictures by himself to dig out the problems.This thesis, by studying information collected in scenic spots, points out some recurring problems and errors in translations of tourist information in lushan and gives a different translation for each. According to Domestication and Foreignization, the focus of translation is its acceptability and its faithfulness in conveying the cultural meaning. Therefore the target culture, language and the thinking patterns of the receivers have to be considered in the process of translation. Besides, translators must have the right to make some adaptations without venturing too far from the source texts. What should be made clear is that in this thesis, the author just makes an analysis of the Chinese-English of the things in scenic spots.Eventually, this thesis tries to put forward some advice for translator training and draws the translator's attention to the improvement of the quality of C-E translations in tourism translation. the suggested translation skills are as follows:literal translation and free translation, annotation and compensation, back translation, combination and division,...
