The human nature question is a basic problem of China's intellectual history and one of the disputests too. This text does some preliminary discussions on the basis of previous studies. The article divides the development of the theory of human nature of Han Dynasty into three periods, and divides it into three chapters altogether:Chapter one, the previous theory of human nature of Western Han Dynasty, discusses Jia Yi's theory of human nature mainly, and then combining Han Ying and" Huai Nan Zi" to analyse the previous theory of human nature of this period, and think the theory of human nature of this period inherits the theory of human nature of the pre-Qin period and has creative propositions too.Chapter two, the theory of human nature from the middle period of Western Han Dynasty to the middle period of Eastern Han Dynasty, is divided into three sections: section one, the orthodox theory of human nature which regardding Dong Zhongshu as representative and combining "Bai Hu Tong " to analyse the orthodox theory of human nature. Section two, the unorthodox theory of human nature, discusses mainly Yang Xiong and Wang Chong's theory of human nature. Section three, the comparison between the orthodox and unorthodox theory of human nature, thinks the two have similar places and shows certain antagonism yet.Chapter three, the later period theory of human nature of Eastern Han Dynasty, discusses mainly Xun Yue's theory of human nature, and then combining Wang Fu's to investigate the theory of human nature of this period and thinks, this period's theory of human nature synthesizes the orthodox and unorthodox's theory of human nature and puts forward initiative opinions and has great influence on the later generation's theory of human nature.
