Listening comprehension has an important position in the social intercouse and the foreign language teaching. However, listening teaching methods are not given due attention.The famous psychologist J. Piaget had put forward a standpoint that understanding was one kind of initiative construction which took the knowledge and the experience as the foundation. So he not only should be regarded as one of main representative personages, but also be provided an example which has close connection with psychology and philosophy research,especially with the epistemology research. The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences research institute's Lu Zhongheng had pointed out in his The Self-educated Guidance Teaching Material of High School Student's Mathematics that we should adopt the classroom pattern which contains inspiring,reading,practicing and knowing while using this teaching material. Its characteristic is though a new kind of teaching material or teaching method, we can change the traditional method of the students listening to the teacher to students self-educated assisted with the teacher's instruction, which improves their self-educated habits and listening abilities.For a long time, the research center of foreign language teaching is the teaching method. From the end of 19th century to the middle of 20th century, the new method in the foreign language teaching piled up one after another. But, no matter which teaching method and teaching material we adopt, we still found a part of learners had a quick progress while others had a slow one. The latter may accounts the majority of the total number. Until 70's, most researchers started realizing that teaching methods and teaching materials were finally exterior factors. While the interior factors were the key of learning a foreign language well or not.With the research of the English teaching methods in the senior high vocational school, we want to prove universality of self- educated guidance in the listening teaching classroom whether it has its or not. So we can find methods and measures of valid teaching which will make more effects on the listening teaching.This thesis is totally divided into 7 chapters. Chapter 1, the preface. It briefly introduces the research background , the significance of the topic research and the main content of this paper. Chapter 2, it is an analysis of present research situation at home and abroad. Chapter 3, the inquisition and the analysis in the listening classroom with constructivism. Chapter 4, the constructivism and the listening teaching. Chapter 5,the experiment of constructivism. Chapter 6, an experiment of self-educated guidance in Jingmen Technical College. Chapter 7, the conclusion.
