Our country researchers studied on the relationships between parenting style and adolescents'mental health they have got lots of research results during the past few years. And they have worked out or have revised some scales to measure adolescents'mental health. But we have not seen any "self consistency and congruence" factor intervention, so the study selected the "self consistency and congruence" factor to examine the role of parenting styles in the development of high school students. And the relationship among high middle school students'self consistency and congruence, self-esteem, and their mental health status.By stratified sampling, the paper investigated 498 students came from two senior middle schools, one is from Jinan city and another is from Heze city. The study used EMBU, SCCS, SES and MHT which revised by the paper's writer to investigate high middle school students'parenting style, self consistency and congruence, self-esteem and mental health. Use the difference test, correlation analysis and regression analysis to analyze the outcome. The results were as follows:1 The high middle school students'parenting styles have significant differences between urban and rural, genders, only and non-only students. Compared with rural parents, those parents live in urban areas showed more tender warm affection and excessive interference on their children. Fathers in rural areas showed more severe punishment. There are significant gender differences on parenting style. Parents give more tender warm affection to girls than to boys, but they showed more severe punishment, excessive interference and negative rejection on boys than on girls. There are significant differences between only and non-only students, parents showed more tender warm affection and more excessive interference on only than on non-only children. But mothers showed more negative rejection on only than on non-only students.2 High school students'self-consistence existence significant difference between urban and rural areas, urban students'self-harmonious is higher than those rural students'. Boys' self-consistency and their experience are more congruence than girls'. The only and non-only children'self-consistence has no difference. The flexibility of grade one students is higher than grade two. The level of only children'self-esteem is higher than non-only children'。The level of self-esteem is no differences between urban and rural, genders and grades.3 The mental health status of high school students there are significant difference between urban and rural areas, genders, grades and the only/non-only, and the urban high school students'mental health is better than rural students. Boys in good mental health of girls, and in the general level of mental health and most factors have significant gender differences. The mental health status of grade two students is better than grade one, but the difference between them is little. The mental health status of only children is better than non-only children. 4 The dimensions of parenting style were significantly correlated with subjects'self-consistence and self-esteem.Positive Parenting styles help children have higher level of congruence and self-esteem. Conversely, negative parenting styles impede the development of their children's self-esteem and self-congruence.5 Most facts of parenting style were significantly correlated with all factors and scores of high school students'mental health, but some correlations between them become not significant after control self-congruence or self-esteem. We can infer that some parenting style factors affect the high school students'mental health through intermediary role of self-consistence and congruence or self-esteem.6 The regression analysis on Parenting style affect on high school students'self consistence and congruence, self-esteem and their mental health showed that some parenting style factors can predict the level of the high school students'self consistence and congruence, self-esteem and their mental health. The most factors of self-consistence and congruence can better predict the level of high middle school students'self-esteem and mental health.
